Jefferson Cup Girls Weekend Thread

So when determining what flight you played in, I assume the color doesn’t matter. Ie elite orange and elite black are equivalent?

My daughter’s U-12 games were all cancelled today because the fields were closed by the County. The rain all day yesterday meant the ground was too saturated and the County was concerned about injuries. I don’t know why there wasn’t a Plan B? Our 9:30 am game got moved last night to 9 am. And when multiple’s teams arrived at the fields just after 8 am - for 8:15 am warm-ups the gates were locked and no one had been informed that the fields were closed and for our kids the tournament was over. Incredibly disappointed.

Especially with all the rain that was forecasted. Our 9:30 am Sunday game got moved last night to 9 am. And when multiple teams arrived at the fields just after 8 am - for 8:15 am warm-ups the gates were locked and no one had been informed that the fields were closed and for our kids the tournament was over. Every year, we pack the vehicles like zombies and spend hours and 💰 🤑 💸 for these miserable tournament experiences that has no soccer value to the kids

These tournament organizers love us.

Yep. I am so sick of tournaments; especially out of town tournaments. Or maybe I am just bitter that my kid's team hardly ever wins a tournament despite playing well...

Games in Fredericksburg were reshuffled so everyone could be on turf until the finals. Girls were frozen and soaked to the skin but at least got to play. Yesterday’s consolation matches were on grass and the field was so wet and slippery that someone was falling every few seconds. Ref said he was shocked they were allowed to play. Our team was happy to escape without any serious injuries.

Hey, do you remember when Pulisic won that tournament in Baltimore at U12?
No?

Neither does he

Overheard in Richmond yesterday after someone politely asked some girls where they were from: Mom helpfully injected, "Texas. We're currently the number one team in the country."

Really wanted to ask Mom which position she plays.

Oh, and the girls are 11.

Insanity.

Assuming I know what team you’re talking about, they won SuperCopa in June and Jeff Cup top bracket yesterday. Perhaps pompous, but not exactly insanity, that they are going to top tournaments and not just playing all the same Texas teams all the time.

Good for the girls. But it's insanity for Mom to use the royal "we."

Get over yourselves, soccer parents.

I agree with you some soccer parents are crazy but I talk about my kids teams using “we” all the time. Don’t see the big deal. It’s short, to the point, and nobody thinks my mid 40s self is actually on the team. I hear lots of people say “we” whether a top team or rec.

I think I say “we” talking about my kids rec basketball team.

Just curious, why "we" and not "they?"
