Rain for the next 72 hours. If our games are going to be cancelled or shortened to 30 minutes, do we get a refund?
|
| We’re on turf, fortunately. Are your games on grass? Thurs, Fr, and Sunday look dry, with Sat having a 50% chance of rain. |
| It’s over a week away….. |
It's four days, 72 hours of which are raining |
| This is why I hate out of town tournaments. Waste of time and money. |

The grass fields were already a disaster this past weekend -- they're only going to get worse.
Parents -- talk to your club about this; clubs, talk to Jeff Cup about this and put some pressure on them to change. No teams should be traveling from across the country to play on grass fields in early March in Virginia; the weather is too wet and too cold for prompt drying out of the fields; the games are technically ugly and more dangerous with kids sliding around etc. If they need to break up the tournament into a "little girls" and "little boys" and "big girls" and "big boys" weekends to have every game played on a quality surface, so be it -- nothing wrong with that. It's better than the crap we had last weekend. |
NO team at u9 to u14 should be traveling cross country for any soccer tournament. Also, these kids are not pros, they can play on grass. |
LMAO DCUM smh...Pros do play on grass exclusively. Turf is the problem except when its raining then turf is necessary. |
Comparing groomed pro fields to county ones 🤣🤣🤣 |
|
Vast majority of these tournaments are for feeding the egos and insecurities of adults.
They have no true value for the young kids. Kids with poor technical skills and hardly any soccer IQ traveling hours to play games. |
Jeff Cup is huge - they already break up the littles and bigs on different weekends...Not enough fields to go around unfortunately. This has always been an issue. |
|
Just play on the wet grass and get over it!
|
Or just wake up at 6:30am, get out to the field at 7:15am and warm up for 45 minutes, get soaking wet, and then at 8:05am have the Jeff Cup tournament people cancel your scheduled 8am game and reschedule it for the evening. Clown show. |
| My kid is currently scheduled on turf this weekend. Anyone know, based on previous experience, whether they could still change things because of other games scheduled on grass fields that won't be usable? |
| No |
