I tipped over the line this week and can’t support Biden

I get it and as an American Jew, I canot stand either Likud or Hamas. I don't like Israel's response to Oct 7.

That said, the GOP would be making no effort to a cease-fire, making no effort to getting the hostages back, no effort to humanitarian aid and certainly no effort to a two-state solution.

So your choice is to sit out because you don't like what Biden is trying to do and instead allow the GOP and its "we support Israel because of The Rapture" and all of the pro-life Christian Nationalism that goes with it.

I tried to hold my nose and follow the path you have outlined (thank you for being rational about it), but it always feels like a wake-up call is necessary to right the ship for the Democratic Party - and yet it never happens. Frustrating …

Then be prepared for a President Trump that never goes away. If you think Putin is bad, Trump will be right there with him.

Just stop with the histrionics and fear mongering.
If you think you are winning people over with your rhetoric, you are wrong.

He supports the border bill that trump tanked. Trump has no intention or plan for immigration. He is full of bull.

The PP troll missed that memo!
They're supposed to post over and over that "open borders" crap.

New memo: Biden can close the borders if the GOP would get on board and vote to allow him to do so.

But the Dumpster doesn't want the borders closed. He wants only what's best for him, not our country.

Biden does not need new laws to close the border.

Just follow what Trump was doing when president……Border was under more control than things now. Biden undid all the border policies and BIDEN created this border mess.

It took him 2 years to even use the word “crisis”.

Sorry, people are not that stupid to forget that.

The border mess happened under BIDEN. .

Yes he does. the courts overturned the law that trump used to close the borders because he abused the law. If you want a fix, you need to look to the Congress.

Ha,

Trump had remain in Mexico, deportations galore. Illegal immigration was at record lows under Trump!!!!!!!

Biden undid remain In Mexico. Practically announcing to the world to come to the USA. Releasing 8 million illegals and 1 million got aways with no plan. Look at the cites and the billions they are spending, gangs in NYC, people in the streets. Things were actually Good under Trump, border was more secure than it was now.

Obama and Biden had more deportations.

The wall is a mirage and did/does nothing to stop the issue. It need a legislative fix, unless you support authoritarians.

Biden has had more deportation ONLY because we have had a record number of people enter the country illegally.
He has also let in far more people than Trump.

Sorry, you are wrong. Biden could create a secure border without any new laws, but he won't because then that would be admitting that he could have done it all along.

Trump would be worse on this. He would classify Gaza along with the sh-hole countries he doesn’t care about. Biden is trying to moderate Netanyahu behind the scenes and is getting slowly more assertive on this. Trump would back pedal entirely.

This is sort of like saying I’m upset about having the flu so I’m going to drive a big glass of bubonic plague. You’re not being rational.

OP here. This is what I mean when I say “trump would be worse” is not sufficient. It isn’t a choice between the flu and the plague. Both choices are unacceptable. I really never thought Biden could do anything to make me sit it out.

But why wouldn’t Biden interpret my support as approval for what he has done? He has degraded US leadership and national security for generations to come for … what? For a genocidal warmonger? That is unforgivable.

Actually, that PP is spot on and YOU are the one not seeing it. They are not both the same, but at this point, you do you, just don't complain about it when Icanka's children are the rulers over your grandchildren.

Nope, there need a legislative fix OR you can support the Biden Authoritiarian rule. He is abiding by the rule of law, which requires a congressional fix, one that Trump very specifically asked the House not to pass because it....would have address the problem.

Nope, The Dems do not own this anymore, it is a GOP problem and will be until the GOP supports a legislative fix.

It's hard to believe you care about Gazans when you decide to sit out the election. Gazans don't have that luxury. But they would likely tell you that they'd rather have the "lesser of two evils." You are really naive if you don't think it will get worse for them under Trump. And if you're not naive then you are cynical and really don't care about them.

Nope, he has more because his administration is better run. Obama too. Trump didn't care, he just wanted to demigog "the other" and people like you fell for it.

If it’s Biden v. Trump, I’m voting for Biden.

I don’t think many people realize that a second Trump administration will NOT be a repeat of the first. Trump won’t stock his Cabinet and administration with conservative Americans who want to uphold the Constitution. He’ll choose goons hellbent on remaking this country into a totalitarian state.

But I just can’t support a guy who is helping conduct a genocide. I’m a white Christian 50 something in Virginia, so it isn’t directly personal to me, but I just can’t do it.

Anyone have any arguments other than “Trump is worse.” I agree, but that alone just isn’t enough anymore.

You’re not alone. Our republic will wither due to this intransigent, unconditional support of Israel. What a mess.

Oh yes. Supporting Israel as it responds to a terror attack will be the fall of the US.

I don’t want to support anything that approaches within 100 clicks of the bizarre, essentially one-sided terrorism that Zionism has inflicted on the indigenous Palestinians for the past 100 or whatever years.

Nobody is buying the lies any longer that Israelis live under siege. It’s over. Social media and the decentralization of information has ensured that every wave of Israeli lies is pretty quickly analyzed, evaluated, and picked off as hasbara.

Live by the sword (lies, deprivation of rights, and genocide), I guess die by that same sword … hopefully cooler heads prevail at some point, though.

^^^White American privilege right there, folks.

You go back to outrage and then go get your latte and head out to the golf course patting yourself on your back for being such a purist and taking a stance.

Op got worried about all the news regarding
Republicans looking to ban birth control
And enacting a federal abortion ban.
That’s what this thread is about

You think candidates assume that people who vote for them agree with them on everything? Gaza is one of hundreds of things on Biden’s plate. A vote for him isn’t an endorsement of every single thing he does.

If you don’t vote for Biden, you’re sending the message that Trump is no worse. Don’t you worry about how that looks?

OP again. I do! I also worry how it looks to vote for Biden. I didn’t think I’d get to this point but I’m here. I am furious at Biden for putting the country in this horrible position. This is a 1000 times worse than starting the Iraq war.

I wish Biden would listen more to the voters (who overwhelmingly want a ceasefire) than to a foreign government.

He abandoned the Democrats and is just Netanyahu’s lap dog. Is that ok with you??

Why is that funny? I am losing sleep over it. Is Biden as occupied by Israel as Trump is by Russia?

Is this what happens when Citizens United allows us to be bought?

I know you are desperately thirsty for people to stop talking about it, for people to stop being aware of it, and/or for people to feel hopeless to change it … anything to preserve the status quo.

I like that. Actually, I love that! I LOVE that you are in panic mode knowing that the overreaction the world had following WWII is swinging back - back to an equilibrium where Israel will be FORCED to either change its ways or else face down the same reality every nation faces when the rest of the world opposes them for who they are.

Israel is only chosen in your own mind. To everyone else, it’s expendable.
