I understand not wanting a lot of handling

I just don’t prefer that uncooked foods be handled so much. Same with cheese - put the slabs out and let guests cut their own.

You don’t want the host to slice the cheese, instead you prefer to have everyone at the party slicing the cheese?

NP, yes that way there can be 16 sets of hands on the cheese knife instead of one!

Mini empanadas
Nice veggie tray with fresh dips, not from frito lay
Anything with bacon in it
A variety of interesting savory popcorn

I'm the opposite. I'm happy to eat costco appetizers - I want it to be as easy and stress free to have me over as possible.
I want to spend time with you, I don't care if you hand made some fancy crap.

Just go sit in the driveway in a plastic chair and drink your PBR out of the can.

I’ll join PP in the driveway. Uptight people need not apply.

Everything in this thread is a wonderful suggestion, but I really love to see chips and a Helluva good dip at a gathering...because this is the only time I allow myself to have these foods. I don't buy them ever so as low key lame as it sounds, good chips and a dip at a party are so my jam.

We eat ruffles and French onion dip on Thanksgiving and Christmas only. Weird tradition but we do it

cheese board with plenty of fruit
veggies and dip
two-bite treats

if you are talking dinner food- greek food. chicken or pork skewers, salad, cuc/tom, pita bread, some feta, add some dips and fruit.

1. Pigs in blanket
2. Shrimp cocktail or fried shrimp
3. Any cookie or cake that is fresh. Usually they are 2-3 days old, basically stale.

That may be true but nobody gets "excited" to see that same Costco appetizers every party has. More reason to just skip because you know you're not missing anything.

Almost everyone loves samosas, fresh spring rolls and some spicy air fried chicken (from a restaurant not store bought).

Pad thai, or panang curry, or something without dairy.
