Why do people hate Trump?

I hate Trump (among many other reasons) because before him, I was never made to feel less than or unwelcome in this country. His unmitigated bigotry is unforgivable to me. You can look at his most recent bullying of Nikki Haley over her name and his birther nonsense as an example of how he has normalized a vision of America and patriotism that makes my skin crawl. I honestly cannot understand how any foreigner in America can support him.

Trump not only isn't afraid of hiding his bigotry, it's a selling point for him. Do I think all of his supporters feel the same way as he does? No, I don't. But it makes me deeply, deeply sad that a lot of people choose not care about his disgusting, playground bully-like behavior for the sake of more favorable policies for their tax bracket (or whatever).

OP here. During his first term, the way the media portrayed him I thought I was going to pack my bags and leave. Life went as normal actually, I did well in fact. He not only called Haley names, he also called out DeSantis in his childish way. I am not saying those are right things to do neither is his character but I don’t think he is as evil as he has been portrayed. There are many things wrong with the Democrats. I am against the indoctrination in schools that’s happening now promoted by the liberals. Like I said if Trump puts America First in his policies I don’t mind voting for him. I will be watching what his talking points are. That’s all matters to me not who the media pushes me to vote for

But trump doesn’t put America first, trump puts trump first and second and third.

I dislike Trump because he's a criminal - a tax cheat and a rapist among other things. He lies all the time. He judges people not on their talent or their character, but on whether or not they say nice things about him.

But more than anything else, after he lost an election rather than concede he summoned his angry followers: "Big protest in D.C. on January 6. Be there, will be wild!" Without that tweet the January 6th insurrection would not have happened. Certainly presidents of both parties have had moral failings, but nothing any other president (even Nixon) has done comes close to that.

I stopped reading after your first paragraph. Your comments there were infantilizing which we don’t need any more here.

So let me get this straight...you don't like that I objected to a term used only by Republicans, so you decided it's ok to ignore the part about Trump's crimes, including January 6?

But with the open border I am now starting to question the Democrat party. Why on earth are they allowing mass illegal migration through open borders which is a major major security threat to the country. As I am thinking to vote for Republicans, I see so much hate for Trump. When Trump was President, it was same like the earlier 20 years for me except there were no wars. So what is wrong with Trump that is not the case with Democrat nominees? If it is his moral character then there are Democrat Presidents who have also been immoral. So I am ruling that out. Is it because he talks brash? That’s the only thing I can think of. Please explain and keep it simple. Why you hate Trump?

OP, if this is a legit post, I'm curious to know what country you emigrated from. Can you share with us?

Yes I am from India. Most replies I got are what I already mentioned- his moral values (which both parties are a problem) and the way he speaks.

I am willing to put those two aside and vote for him if he puts America First. Strong immigration laws and promise the country will have a border, that you can come only through the front door, build the economy and no wars.

Biden is no longer a choice for me. And none of the replies about Trump are any worse than what the other side is.

Most likely I am going to vote for Trump this time around unless they take him out by the plethora of court cases of which I think the timing is wrong.

You were always pro-Trump. I am Indian and I know many like you. Vote for whoever you like, why all this drama?

No first time I may choose him

So vote for Trump. Why is this noteworthy to anyone else?

True, but no one else even cares to utter anything that would help on immigration, foreign economic competition and getting out of wars.

LOL at a Republican crying about infantilizing. But you're right - Trump is already infantilizing our country and we don't need any more here.

Do you know that the slogan America First derives from American Nazis in the 1930s?

Do you know that the tariffs Trump has proposed will hurt average Americans?

Do you know that Trump has a knack for picking terrible, corrupt people to be his inner circle, that he's gone through a roster of people who say he is not competent to be president, that the list of people willing to work for his 2nd administration is full of extremists?

Did you know that Trump blew up the deficit during his first term and is set to do that again? Do you not care about the deficit?

Finally, Trump is corrupt, plain and simple. Corruption in politicians is not an American value. Don't you know that?

However, controlling the WH is crucial even with super majority (can only override veto but foreign policy, use of military, Executive orders etc. are only available to the President)

Thus, prevent Trump from taking the Office of Presidency by any means necessary such as impeachments, civil lawsuits, criminal charges, removal from the ballots, impose the death penalty for his business, calling him dictator, rapist, evil, satan etc.

The anti-democratic forces hate him they control with money and blackmail and he is immune. He is an American hero disrupting their satanic grip.

People hate the people who love Trump. And other people hate the people that hate Trump. There’s a lot of hate going around. I think the Trump supporters are finally comfortable with hating as much as liberals have always hated. It all started with the left and media hating Nixon then calling people like Bush and Romney “Hitler”. The MAGA people have finally caught up and are hating back with equal intensity which really rattles the left and the leftist media which used to have a monopoly on hate and the messaging. Now the left tries to censor the MAGA hate and only broadcast the Left hate but it’s not working.

I hope your post is not removed or censored because more people need to think seriously about your message.

Obama will be indicted for over 1000 drone murders of innocents if there is no presidential immunity so I’m torn on the issue. He definitely deserves life in prison. He kept doing it even after American citizens were drone murdered.

No, he won't...because Obama did not act with intent to murder innocent people. Trump, on the other hand, did act with intent to interfere with the peaceful transfer of power.

And are you seriously complaining about Anwar al-Awlaki, who as far as I'm concerned renounced his US citizenship when he joined Al Qaeda? Before his death, the Justice Department wrote a memo authorizing his killing. Can you point me to a similar memo from Trump's DoJ authorizing his efforts to overturn the 2020 election? You can't, because even Bill Barr told Trump that Biden had won.

Sure he did. He murdered.. then he continued knowingly doing it. Death penalty stuff.

MAGA and Trump use pointed and humiliating humor against liberals the way SNL always has against conservatives . Making the left look like loser mental cases. In my opinion Trump has been more entertaining and funnier with better material than SNL recently. This is part of the built up payback that is in its early stages.
