Why do I hate Trump? Because he is a con man, and now he is a tired old possibly broke con man who wants to drag the US down with him.

Idiots always use hollow generalities against Trump: “ Wah! Destroy democracy! Ack! Ruin country! No! Not nice! Ahh! MAGA!”

If they had specifics, they would use them. Instead we get emotions & generalities.

Throughout this thread and many others, people have poined out specific instances of his shortcomings - his many failings as a business man, numerous judgments against him, for anything from housing discrimination to rape, words out of his own mouth about how people of power and privilege can do anything to women, his own actions while in power to seize power illegally, to mishandle top secret documents, etc. If at this point your response is that no one can point to specifics, it's because you're being intentionally obtuse.

And fifty plus right wing advocacy groups took the pains to write out Project 2025, a horrific plan to destroy America and these maga fools can’t be bothered to believe any of that.

A better question is “why is Joe Biden not loved by anybody”

Democrats aren’t prone to cults. For as much as Obama was adored, we still didn’t fly Obama flags, create “art” that took 30 years off his appearance or make him out to be a warrior, buy bibles, shoes, or NFTs.

We don’t “love” our leaders. We may like or dislike them and we may have mixed feelings about them. We don’t pledge loyal to them or look up to them as god given and infallible.

I guess you have no idea what a cult is.

The ten signs of global warming cult

1. Absolute authoritarianism without meaningful accountability.

2. No tolerance for questions or critical inquiry.

3. No meaningful financial disclosure regarding budget, expenses such as an independently audited financial statement

4. Unreasonable fear about the outside world, such as impending catastrophe, evil conspiracies and persecutions.

5. There is no legitimate reason to leave, former followers are always wrong in leaving, negative or even evil.

6. Former members often relate the same stories of abuse and reflect a similar pattern of grievances

7. There are records, books, news articles, or television programs that document the abuses of the group/leader.

8. Followers feel they can never be “good enough.”

9. The group/leader is always right.

10. The group/leader is the exclusive means of knowing “truth” or receiving validation, no other process of discovery is really acceptable or credible.

Nope, it doesn’t apply. You’re trying, but it doesn’t work. BTW, the biggest environmentalists I know are republicans. And I think you underestimate how comfortable liberals are disagreeing amongst themselves.

Nope the Christian church does not persecute people who leave.

Trump seems to think all his supporters are brain dead: shilling special Bibles, golden shoes, and then Truth Social stock for a platform that only appeals to a minority of people in the US.

And that crazy minority gets outsized attention from the media, which is a problem.

A fact that sometimes disadvantages us but is overall a positive trait.
