Why do people hate Trump?

He did not one thing of any positive consequence while POTUS. His major legislative achievement was lowering taxes on the rich (mine meanwhile, went up). He appointed 3 SCOTUS justices who are completely corrupt and failing to follow prior precedent, and doing so to roll back human rights.

He is also a criminal. A cheat. A liar. He bragged on national television about sexually assaulting women. He has no morality. He is crass and insulting.

He is a threat to democracy. He has denied the 2020 results. And he incited the Jan 6 Capitol Insurrection.

And while your so concerned about immigration, know that he is single-handedly, by his own admission, blocking a deal on compromise immigration legislation. Yeah, he's not so concerned about immigration. He cares about himself.

He tried to overturn an election. Doesn't anyone remember this? If they had done that, all hell would have broken lose. There are not enough Proud Boys, militarized police, and soldiers to harass all of us. I would have called on everyone to pay as little in taxes as possible, just like the billionaires.
