18 yr old son vomiting and diarrhea

Sounds like norovirus, which when I had it made me the sickest I’ve ever been. Hang in, he’ll be fine but may take several days.

Did the ER check for appendicitis or ruptured colon?

Doesn't have pain - just cramps and nausea. They didn't scan. Just felt around. Ruptured colon? Oh boy - not that I know of.

How’s he doing now OP?

Not great! I'm so worried. High fever w Tylenol (but only one pill) and no interest in food. It's been 48 hours. He hasn't thrown up since thjs morning but did have diarrhea again. Taking zofran. Kind of listless or maybe just tired. Burning up. Maybe it's flu and test was wrong!? I also have anxiety lol shocker. Thanks for checking in

Flu is a respiratory virus. He has a gastrointestinal virus.

Thanks for checking. He woke up hungry I was so excited. Had tiny bit of applesauce but then had diarrhea. But still a great sign. Sleeping now. And seems less "sick" just weak. If it's from a salad he ate, which we suspect, nothing different to do? One dr said most E. coli clear up on their own.

Consider giving a probiotic. Glad to hear he’s doing better.

Fingers crossed. I want him to eat and not have it come right out lol. I thought probiotics help w regularity?

Saltines. If applesauce, not the kind with any flavor or any added sugar.

That is likely to take a bit. It takes some time for the gut to heal.

I think it's probably from the salad. I'm glad you're seeing some improvement.

+1 to probiotic.
Saltines, ginger ale, gatorade. Nothing more till those things stay down/in.

I'm not the pp, but I also don't treat a fervor unless my kids are really uncomfortable. A fever is there to do a job; it's your body's natural way of fighting off illness.
