Thank you. Man. This person is a real pill- wait, I mean a “top” pill. Good luck to all! (And you are so smart to discern the bit about ED). |

Where did I state my kid attends one of those schools? They don’t but I’m stating facts that there are other private schools that impose limits on number of college applications. |
Mine applied to 15 schools by Dec 1. One more today. We are done. |
None. Submitted and accepted to ED school. |

Theater and music kids apply to a ton of schools. It is the nature of the audition process, especially for a girl applying for a strong musical theater program. |
We live in an Obamacare world now (remember “we need to pass the bill to know what is in it”?). |
NP Great that you clarified. Now you should have no issue naming the schools that impose limits. I am aware of none. And I’m assuming someone lied to you if you were told that |
My kid was 16 in the spring. For us, we did not want to give her the pressure of finalizing even the the type of school 18 months before attenfing. Hell, I’m 50 and I can’t decide on a paint color. This is a lot bigger decision, for a person that is a lot less developed. as parents, we did give her information and things that she might want to consider. However, for the small cost in the big picture of the price of a education, We allowed her to apply to avariety of schools that are small privates, large public’s, close to home , farther away. having a few more months for her to grow more into the person she’s going to be in college and with with the acceptances in front of her, being able to do a deep dive into the final 3 or 4 schools gives us more confidence in her decision. |
NP here. Why are you so heated about this? I know for a fact that Landon does this. |
My kid applied to 12 by Nov 1; deferred to ED school.
Submitted 8 more apps by Dec 31 (whew)….. Spent 1-2 days on each of the 8 apps; one at a time; tailoring EVERYTHING - and I reviewed each of these apps (was hands off in fall….) |
20 apps??!?? |
NP - It’s called SCEA, single choice early action. It’s a real thing. Have a nice day. |
Imagine if they'd have spent all that time studying, they'd have had better choices. |
