They are either a troll or a Virginian. |
I used to think that, too. But she has been very supportive of the police this past year, and has worked closely with them. The drone program is up and running because of her. |
OK, I'm listening. Has she done anything insane and leftist like, say, Kristin Mink. Or did I make a bad assumption about her based on her zip code? |
Not in public safety stuff. But she's also not on the public safety committee. She got involved in the drone program because the police wanted to put it in her district first. I had made the same assumption too. And knew a little about how policing had changed in Takoma Park (not for the better IMO) post George Floyd. But Takoma Park is a tiny, tiny little area and Montgomery County is huge and diverse and has some intractable crime problems in some places. And so far, she seems to get that. |
OK thank you. I really appreciate that. |

This is Erlich’s Montgomery county. This is the current councils Montgomery county. I don’t want a third term of Erlich. Whoever wants against to run against him needs to Run a 30 second ad with crime stats to get peoples attention. |
The question is whether any candidate will be bold enough to make that message the focus of their campaign. Candidates like Blair seemed to be afraid to talk about crime. I think the fear was that a "tough on crime" message would alienate MoCo voters. Also, the recent NoVA elections raise doubts about how much voters care about crime as a campaign issue. Just look up all the candidates who aired endless ads about how their opponent was weak on crime; most didn't win. And NoVA has a huge crime problem also. I wish more people would vote based on this issue, but it just doesn't seem to be happening. |
I just don’t understand why we are so afraid of speaking up against crime. People who live in these high crime areas deserve better, and I wish they would vote for a candidate who would speak up and step up for them. Just not another Elrich! |
I have mixed feelings about Elrich but agree that three terms would be too much. The sad thing is that this crime disproportionately affects minorities and minority-owned businesses, and yet people perpetrate this fiction that the police are racist and cannot be trusted which just harms the cause of reducing crime. i really hope that voters become smarter about this issue, but I can't say that I am optimistic. |
Ughhhh…..between Elrich x3 or Stewart, MoCo appears to be doomed. The county simply looooooves jobs killing leftists whose plans are pretty much raise taxes and destroy the economy. Stewart would hasten the decline, which is already snowballing for MoCo as becomes more and more impoverished while the schools continue to go downhill. |
Nope, Elrich is a socialist, as was proven long ago when he tried to invite in reps from Venezuela, lol. |
Because of slavery, black people can't help but commit crime. So being tough on crime is racist. |
Don't forget that he's also a card-carrying DSA member. |
And the current DSA doesn't even like him because he isn't anti-cop ENOUGH. |

Wants to take minimum wage over $20 per hour! He is insane. Those restaurant prices we’re complaining about now will be nothing compared to when minimum wage is over $20. We will be priced out. between the minimum wage raises, these restaurant, recovery fees, and general inflation, life in Montgomery county will be too expensive to live. If restaurants are empty now, just wait. This will end up backfiring and scaring customers away but he wants his $20 minimum wage.
