Yup.
https://montgomeryperspective.com/2023/12/08/elrich-says-he-is-running-for-reelection/ I'm looking forward to the 2026 primary, in which Elrich, Blair, Friedson, Jawando, and Glass all run and Elrich wins by six votes. |
| Kill me now |
| If Blair runs again, I wonder if he'll actually have a strategy this time. |
| I thought this was a joke. |
| So the crappiest Maryland governor in history becomes the crappiest mayor and there is not even a term limit? Enjoy Montgomery! |
Yeh, you’re a local
|
| I voted for Blair the last time around, but one thing you can say for Erich is that he provides a counter balance against the council when it comes to a lot of issues. |
As a card-carrying DSA member, Elrich shows just how far left the council is. |
Elrich is only a counterbalance on development. That’s the only place he’s moderate. On business and tax issues he’s a Socialist. |
Words have lost all meaning. |
Elrich was never a governor, and he is never been a mayor. |
Yes, I'm excited about the prospect of a rematch between Blair Warner and Erich Stroheim. |
|
Elrich served 3 4-year terms on the Council, until term limits got him.
Now he wants to do a third term as CoExec, as that is the level of term limits in place (most counties in MD limit the CoExec to 2 terms not 3). That would be 24 years on the council and coexec. We need new faces. There is a ballot initiative underway to limit the position to 2 terms: https://moco360.media/2023/09/15/ballot-initiative-would-limit-county-executive-to-two-terms/ |
I blame the quality of his opponents. Blair is a prime example -- spends tons of money but can't provide a compelling message as to how he differs from Elrich. Just saying you have business experience is not a compelling message. |
Easy peasy, public safety. |
