She was monetizing her fake ethnicity on her blog. She even got some sort of Latina award. People were pretty pissed and I think she lost all her sponsors. I guess getting Alec was also part of the grift. It seems she met him early on in her fake Spanish phase and he was captivated by her Spanish style. At some point he must have realized it was a con but at that point he was in too deep? Or she has him hypnotized? It’s really too bizarre to explain. Her parents are super American, not at all spanish, so he must have clued in when he met them, if not before. It almost makes it seem like he has early onset dementia or something.

I cannot believe you missed this somehow. I'm not super into celeb gossip generally but this one was so wild I definitely followed it. The craziest part to me is that after it was all uncovered, Hilary and Alec just continued on with their lives. Like she maintains the ruse. It's baffling.

I would 100% watch at least one episode of a reality show about them just to see if they kept it up or tried to address it or what. It would probably wind up being boring, but I think it would get a ton of eyeballs just to see if it was a train wreck, at least at first.

What if this is Hilaria's crazy is Kim Kardashian sex tape? In other words, I never would've known who she was except for this bizarre thing and now I'm hooked. Her claim to fame and people's memories are short so she's leveraging it. I mean, she was a nobody who landed Alec Baldwin, who used to be married to Kim Basinger and everyone recognized.

Alec mentioned that his wife is from Spain (or something to that effect) during his police interview in New Mexico after the Rust shooting. This was well after her grift was exposed, so either he STILL thinks she is "Spanish" or he's perpetuating the grift.
