Do you have kids and/or animals in your bed regularly?

5 y/o, small dog, DH and I sleep in the same queen bed every night. I love it.

Who just eats random "grains of rice" they found? I call BS.

No. I'm someone who really needs good sleep or is miserable. We co-slept until our kids were about 1.5, and then we went to separate beds. Our dog is not allowed in our bedroom at night and seems quite happy to sleep on the couch instead.

When the kids are under 1 they can sleep in bed with me and nurse on demand. After that, it is their own bed in the kids' room! The cat sleeps downstairs or spends the night outside doing cat things. I'll maybe have a kid sleep in bed with us if they are very sick, but it is usually just DH and I.

Right, there are so many things that went wrong in that scenario that aren’t the presence of the cat in the bed…

The kids (8 and 5) sometimes come to our bed around 6 am and I let them in. If they try that in the middle of the night I lead them back to their own beds.

Very similar for us. When we travel we often pair up, like one parent and one child in one bed and the other parent and the other child in another bed. In a hotel room with two fulls that works better than having the kids share a bed.

When our kids were young, they'd sometimes come in if they had a nightmare, but it was unusual.

I'll sometimes let the cats on the bed when DH is out of town, and I think he does the same when I'm out of then ... but when we're both there, the bed is all ours.

I think having any pets sleep in your bed is gross. Why would you want their dirty paws on your clean bedsheets?! Kids on the other hand are always welcome.

3 small dogs and a spouse in a queen bed. Kid sometimes steals one of the dogs for his own bed.

I love it in the winter. My feet stay warm all night! In the summer we all overheat and the dogs generally relocate to the tile in the bathroom or the wood floor in the hallway.

Absolutely not. I would not be able to sleep with kicking children and I DEFINITELY don’t want my dog in my bed!

Sleep is essential to me.

My husband and I trade off putting each kid to bed. Sometimes we will just snuggle with them while they are falling asleep and then move to our bed for the night. And other times, we just stay in bed with them and sleep the whole night. We love it and they love it. In a few years, they will be tweens and hate us. I am soaking in every moment of snuggle I can get.

Dog sleeps in crate.

With my first two, the kids were in their own beds and dogs in their crates. Somehow with the third, he sleeps with me when dad travels for work and there are two dogs curled up next to us.

I am allergic to cats but I love when people tell me they sleep on their heads. I would love that.

We don't have pets, but my kid was regularly popping in to our bed in the wee hours until he was in his early teens.
