Are Teslas Basically Corollas Now?

They're worse than corollas.

I am happy with my Tesla performance. Don't care if you like it or not, I also don't trust other ev only companies to not go bankrupt.

I love my Tesla. I've had it for 2 years and I just took it in for the first time- for a tire rotation and I sprung for a new air filter. $90 and they came to my house to do it. There's nothing to break down and stop working. It's so easy and inexpensive to own. I wanted a reliable EV and no other brand compared at the time I was looking. I have no idea what it's like now. I've driven to NYC many times in it- one charge to get there, and all the parking garages in the city have chargers, so when I return for my car it's fully charged and ready to drive home. No gas station stops. And it is such a quiet, smooth ride. I will never drive a non-EV again.

Everyone before they bought an EV:

Going to a gas station is like 5 minutes once a week even for heavy usage. 4 hours of your life for a year's usage. Meanwhile a couple of roadtrips and they are spending that much time waiting for it charge. Not to mention plugging in at home...

If you don't get it, you don't get it.

I recently test drove a few Tesla cars. They were fun! Of course they're the civic/corolla of the EV space, and I think that's fine. Cars should be an appliance in my opinion. The people in this forum that are judging Tesla owners, they should really just mind their own business and grow up.

You think Volvo, VW, Hyundai, Ford, and other "EV" companies might go bankrupt? Okay....

Huh? From my own Indian-American perspective, people in my community are getting Tesla for their drive-around-the-town car that is eco-friendly. It is not seen as elite but a very pragmatic choice in terms of reliability, eco-friendly, cost, features, maintenance, safety etc. Maybe it appeals to our nerdy and cost-conscious mindset? And you can bet your bottom dollar that most of these owners also have a cost-effective way to charge their cars most of the time - solar at home or free at work.

Also, not an easy car to carjack or steal! An important consideration due to the worsening law and order situation of the country.

This all just confirms OP’s original point. It’s a Corolla now. Not a cool car

I don't know what you're talking about. My Corolla is as cool as it gets!

I have one and I agree they are ugly. I don't care. I don't want to drive a gas-powered car and Tesla is still a good choice for an EV.

Most cars are ugly. Look around you.

I was just in another part of the country and thought to myself - Wow there are no Tesla's here.

We had a Corolla. I think it was a 2002 model. It was the best car we ever had. I don’t know if it was cool, but it was an awesome car. It ran forever and with no issues, other than standard maintenance.

I have a 20 year old Corolla! It’s currently our only family car! We joke about it but it’s still going strong!
