Huh? From my own Indian-American perspective, people in my community are getting Tesla for their drive-around-the-town car that is eco-friendly.  It is not seen as elite but a very pragmatic choice in terms of reliability, eco-friendly, cost, features, maintenance, safety etc.  Maybe it appeals to our nerdy and cost-conscious mindset? And you can bet your bottom dollar that most of these owners also have a cost-effective way to charge their cars most of the time - solar at home or free at work.

We had a Corolla.  I think it was a 2002 model.  It was the best car we ever had.  I don’t know if it was cool, but it was an awesome car.  It ran forever and with no issues, other than standard maintenance.[/quote]
