Outside of sloppy college boys, beach or gym, should men EVER wear flip-flops in public?

If you grew up in a beach area or on the water you wouldn't see it them that way. They are completely functional and as long as your feet are in decent shape, they are non-offensive to most people.

Yep. So Cal transplant who only drops flip flops when it's snowing.

DH wears flip flops while washing the car, power-washing the driveway and walk, playing water fights with our kids in the yard, etc. You do realize though, that nobody cares what you think of their shoes, right?

My DH wears flip flops everywhere. I wear Birkenstocks everywhere. No one has complained.

Ok I’ll engage. I don’t wear flip flops unless I am at the beach or in a beach town. I don’t like them as casual wear on men OR women. And while we are at it, I also find it strange when people run around in athleisure. To me athletic wear is for working out.

But I don’t think people who wear clothes in these contexts are trashy. I just don’t prefer that style myself.

Flip flops on men? That’s a big no. Slides? Yes…

Crocs are worse. Nobody should be wearing them out of the house. Nobody. Anywhere. For any reason.

How do you feel about women wearing them?

Cheap rubber flip-flops that smack every step you take should not be worn in public (outside of beach and pool) by anyone.

Do you seriously think any men give a flying F what you think about this?

I agree with you. But the other day I had mine on and forgot and went to run errands and didn’t realize what I’d done until I was at Target. I felt so self conscious but of course no one cares.

Lol.

No.

Awful.

Women do it all the time. Yes, women's feet are more attractive but still.

Flip-flops in public are trashy no matter your gender.

Only people with ugly feet say this. Too bad you can't show yours off in public.

My toenail fell off and I wore flip-flops as it grew back in. It's still only about 50% back and I'm not covering them up. No shame.

Crocs have become very popular amongst blacks… Take stock.
