Outside of sloppy college boys, beach or gym, should men EVER wear flip-flops in public?

If you're talking about a 5-star restaurant (lack of formality), an investment banking office (unprofessional), or a welding shop (unsafe), sure, I can see why. But otherwise, someone's footwear choice is their own business!

I love this.

Plane… Metro… restaurant… doctor’s office waiting room… coffee shop… school event for kids. Whatever the case, flip-flops in public are low class and trashy. Put SOME effort into your appearance.

I never think flip flops are safe … they look like an ankle twist waiting to happen. But I also think high heels are dumb. People make choices different from mine. I don’t care much. I tell my kids they need real shoes cause I don’t want to deal with taking them for PT when they hurt themselves.

Our family shall wear what we want where we want and when we want.. so flip flops for DH and booty shorts for me and midriff tank tops for DS and DD. Keeping it classy!

Yes because only wealthy people can wear shorts and flip flops?

Do you ever listen to yourself?

Flip-flops in public are trashy no matter your gender.

Only people with ugly feet say this. Too bad you can't show yours off in public.

What's it like being so insecure about your class status that you can't wear comfortable casual flip flops?

He doesn't have to go an office everyday anymore so he insists on wearing what is comfortable.
