Dumb question, but jsut to prove this isnt an after-the-fact, CYA attempt from the MCEA, do they have the supposed sent emails? |
Most definitely. I am glad that MCEA responded to the Jackson Lewis report, basically saying, "Uh, bullsh*t. No way in hell did the BOE or McKnight not see those emails that were SENT to THEM by MCEA." Of course, they would cover their asses and allow their minions to take the fall. Let's not forget who Jackson Lewis is loyal to- the BOE, which is loyal to McKnight, whom the BOE voted for. Great job, Washington Post and all media that continue to investigate and report to the public. |
Why do news sources continually use Dawn as a voice of reason in ALL MCPS matters? She involves/inserts herself in every single situation. She sounds absolutely batshit and pretends to have these amazing relationships with the teachers involved. She has major issues. DC Media: Find someone else to interview other than people desperately seeking relevance. (Also see: Smelkinson, Reesman, etc.) |
The MPIA personnel records exception is not the absolute shield that MCPS makes it out to be. The Jackson Lewis report was not a performance evaluation or a disciplinary record. MCPS seems to be asserting that any record that could be used in a performance evaluation or disciplinary proceeding is exempt from disclosure. Moreover, MCPS seems to be asserting that anything with an employee’s name on it is a record of employment. Both assertions are silly and would mean that any document that mentions an employee’s actions must be withheld. Such a reading would completely vitiate the statute, so it’s not a valid reading. |
Thanks for posting. A whole lot of unanswered questions and no comments from MCPS and the BOE. It looks like Khalid Walker is the designated scapegoat though, since he's MIA. |
Because she's not afraid to talk publicly and have her name attributed to her critiques and comments. There are lot of people within the MCPS ecosystem who have harsh criticisms about the system privately, but don't have the guts to speak publicly for fear of retaliation from MCPS leadership. |
They need to release them (redacted to protect members and others). Nowhere does the Jackson Lewis report say the superintendent’s or BOE’s emails were among the 30,000 documents. It’s really not about the emails though. If neither the superintendent nor the board knew, they should have known. |
If any MCPS staff have additional complaints to report, the form is available here. You don't need to ask anyone for the form:

And now he's outta there: https://www.washingtonpost.com/education/2023/09/15/maryland-mohammed-choudhury-school-superintendent/ |
Sorry- but you'll just have to deal with people who called out the school closures, and the ramifications thereafter. And I'm not even a fan of these people, but get over it. They were right. |
What problems has he been having? I am out of the loop on that one. |
It says: "After searching the MCPS servers and interviewing several witnesses, Jackson Lewis found that neither the Superintendent nor the Board received an alleged May 3, 2022 anonymous email and a May 9, 2022 email from an MCEA representative containing anonymous allegations." |
If you're referring to the state superintendent, the article mentions "a series of accusations against his leadership, including the creation of a “toxic” work environment, a pattern of micro-management that held up important work until he could approve it, an inability to communicate with legislators and others in Maryland’s education world, and agency mismanagement." |
WTOP is finally reporting on this-
