Nope! I was always one of the tallest girls in my class - and also the youngest. I was 5’7” at the end of 6th grade and I’m 5’8” now, so tall-ish or “not short” - but not exactly tall.
My husband is 6’2” and he was never one of the tall kids in school and wasn’t yet 6’0” when he graduated from HS. He just kept growing for a long time. |
| I’m 5 2 |
| I was always one of the tallest then stopped growing early and maxed out at 5'2 |
5'8 is tall! |
| When I was in elementary, my parents took me to a doctor because I was pretty short (4’8” in 6th grade). They predicted i might reach 5’. I was 4’11” in 8th grade and now I’m 5’6”. Not tall, but my ped was surprised. |
| A woman here, was the tallest in my class until junior year at 5'10" and grew an inch freshman year of college. |

Tall in ES for a girl but in 8th grade stopped at 5’ 6”.
I’m much older now and scoliosis has made me shorter, to 5’ 4”. |
Sort of similar story here. Always at the tall end of things growing up (back corner in chorus, middle back row for class pics, etc). Remember being almost 5’9 going into HS and was 5’10 on graduation day. Grew two more inches in college!! Female
In reading this thread it seems like us tall adults were tall all along the way and also keep growing. |
| I was amongst the tallest in 5th/6th grade. But I stopped at 5'3". |
Ha, my tall DD hates always being in the back row and is projected to be 5’9” by the time she starts high school. There’s tall and there’s TALL. Would be helpful to know if PPs are 85th percentile tall or 98th percentile. |
