If you were a tall child, did you end up becoming a tall adult?

At the beginning of 5th grade, my two best friends and I were the three tallest kids in the class at around 5'2"
We are now: 5'2" (did not grow any more) 5'8 (me) 5'10 5'2" definitely hit puberty early (the boys referred to her as Big Boobs in 4th grade). |

Same! I feel like I was taller than the majority of boys until 9th grade as well |

| No, I was the tallest in my class from K until 7th, and even in 8th only a few boys were taller. It was terrible. Based on growth charts, I was supposed to be almost 6’ tall. My aunt is 5’11, but I maxed out at 5’7”. |

I also hit puberty at 12, and was 5'8" by the time I was 12. Grew one more inch in high school and another, surprisingly, in college. Was taller than member of the guys basketball team until junior year of high school. |

My siblings and our kids are all over the place in height. Mostly tall except me, one of my daughters, one niece.
I was always the shortest kid and stayed that way. My three sisters were always tall and stayed that way. My brother grew later, from 5’10” in high school to 6’2” right out of high school. His son is 6’4”. My middle schooler is in the 95%. I worry that she’ll be too tall because she’s hasn’t reached puberty yet. |

My family is very tall and we have all always been the tallest.
I am 6'1" My mother is 5'11" My father is 6'8" My brother is 6'9" |

Exactly the same. And only one boy was taller. My DS was always tall. By seventh grade he was 6’3” and seems to have stopped growing. |

| I hit 5'8" in fifth grade and stopped growing. I was the second tallest girl in my class for years. |

| I got my period a few days after turning 10 and was the tallest girl and tallest in my class in fifth grade. I ended up topping out early at around 5’3” so I am not very tall at all. I actually like my small stature because I can move through crowds easily and have no trouble with airplane leg room. Only issue is I sometimes run into seating that is just built for people taller than me so it doesn’t hit my back right. |

I was always the tallest in my class by a good margin, taller than both girls and boys, until the very end of 8th grade when one of the boys finally surpassed me.
I was tall all along, and got my period in 5th grade when I was about 5’7”. I grew only a bit more after that and topped out at 5’9”. I’m definitely taller than most women, but not as much of an outlier as I used to be! |

Same for me! There was definitely a stage when everyone asked if I played basketball 🤣. But I stopped at 5'6". |

I am finding this correlation interesting: females who were tallest in elementary school, but got their periods and stopped growing and ended up below to average height.
I was also always one of the tallest in elementary school (90th percentile) but just kept growing ... was 5'9 by end of middle school, late to get my period (during early high school) and ended up at 5'11 as an adult. |

The earlier the period starts the sooner the growth stops. Luckily the women who got their periods early were at good heights. I could not believe how many of my daughter’s friend got their period in 4th or 5th grade. So early |
