| When I was in elementary-middle school I was one of the tallest in my class, but since then I stopped growing and now am one of the shortest in most crowds. |
|
I was 5'7" in 5th grade and am 5'8" now in my 50s. So I'm not short for a female, but I didn't grow a ton.
My DS is 17 and was 5'4" in 5th grade and is 6'4" now. So he kept going. |
| I was always average height and then shot up to 5'7" after thinking I was parked at 5'4". I had a weird burst in HS. |
| I was always the tallest in elementary school. I am now 5'5" (a woman). |
| No, I'm 5'4. I was about 5' tall and wearing a women's size 9 shoe when I was 9 years old. Puberty hit me early, and seems to have stopped my growth. |
| Yes, I was always tall and I’m 5’10 (F). |
| I was always one of the tallest, I’m 5’9” female |
| Yes I was always tall and I’m still tall (5’11” woman) |
| Overweight kids are often taller in childhood, then level out to their predisposed height in adulthood. |
| I'm not surprised that women stop growing in elementary school. Once we get our period we pretty much stop growing. |
| For those of you saying you were the tallest then stopped growing, by how much were you taller? My 8 year old is top of the charts and a good half a head (so 4-5 inches?) taller than every other girl we know. She's even taller than a same aged friends whose parents are 6'0" and 6'8"! Were you really THAT much taller and ended up average or below average height? When did you hit puberty? |
Same. It was an adjustment realizing I was no longer tall! |
Same for me down to current height! I got my period in 6th grade and that was it for growth. |
| I was always tall and heavy. When we weighed ourselves in GS in 3rd grade I was 68 lbs and all my friends were in the 40s or 50s. I was about 5'3 by middle school but didn't grow after that. Possibly I was done growing, but my parents are taller, and I was anorexic for a few years, so that may have stunted my growth. |
| no. I was born super long, was tall, and now am pathetic 5'4". |
