Where in DMV can we buy house for 600K?

You can get a 2 bedroom (with another room in the basement that's not a legal bedroom) in the Fairlington Neighborhood for $600k. People love it.

Einstein cluster too. You can still find SFHs and townhomes near Forest Glen metro and Wheaton metro for around this price. We live in Rock Creek Palisades and SFHs 3 bed/2 bath are going for around $600-$650K.

This is a fantastic option, especially to minimize a DC commute. We loved living there!

Look into Odenton, Gambrills, or Crofton. Arundel High is rated a 9/10, and Crofton is a nice brand new school too.

Sounds like you need some green space and community. Recommend you drive around Hillcrest and Penn Branch soon - it’s a great area for both!

+3. This is a really great area, walkable to Shirlington stores and restaurants and not a bad commute downtown. Some communal green space. We lived there 7 years and just moved recently.

+1. Target the following elementary schools: Oakland Terrace, Flora Singer, Forest Knolls, maybe Glen Haven. You should be able to find something although it will be modestly sized and unlikely to have brand new finishes.

Oops, meant to add Rock View elementary too.

NP, here’s a house zoned for Rock View near Kenmont (the neighborhood pool) for under your budget. They re-did the kitchen but it does need some updates.

I would do more research on Rock View ES. Folks were happy with it in the past but I am not sure that is the case right now.

What's going on with Rock View ES?
