NVSL Division 1 won’t be all Arlington/McLean next summer

There are 102 teams in NVSL. 99 of them despise (and no Overlee, Chesterbrook, and Tuckahoe none of the 99 are "jealous" of you) 3 of them.

If I mentioned any of those 3, most of our swimmers and families wouldn’t know who they are. They don’t “despise” and they aren’t “jealous”. Those teams just aren’t on their radar.

I agree the zealous hatred of them is just as weird and sad as how you all are saying they act.

Most parents and swimmers are not thinking about these pools at all.

I’m the Overlee parent from the 90s and this is my point. Anyone who wastes any time “hating” a successful summer swim team for kids should ask themselves if they might be a little competitive themselves?

Friendly and polite to the timers when they walk up. Zero smack talking while lining up. (Which I've never heard from any team really.) For an entire meet. The Overlee parents I timed with were friendly. Just a normal B meet.

I think it's unfair to come on here and not be specific and offer generalities.

I do think their big team (and there are others with big teams) make the meets long.

I'd bet some at your pool do think about them. Your comment stating "no one" automatically discredits your statement because it's doubtful you have the opinion of everyone at your pool.

So how about you pick up your phone and call your Overlee friends and find out why much of NVSL dislikes them?

DCUM attracts a lot of trashy people who take their envy and resentment out on kids. It’s not a good look for them but they are too clueless to realize it.

You are correct. I have not polled the DH membership. After many years on the team, I have never had a conversation with another parent about these pools and my kids and no kids I'm around mention them.

Your suggestion is I should call my friends with this thread in the back of my mind and it will be revealed why I should dislike them. Just repeating it back to you.

and as a former Overlee parent I was just curious as to how they keep being the top team. They were top long before we joined and apparently they still are. I didn’t give a f_ck then, and I don’t now. (If you actually read my first post before getting all huffy puffy and defensive, you’d know that.)
