It would be cool if OKM could whip their asses, but that is a pipedream. |
If I mentioned any of those 3, most of our swimmers and families wouldn’t know who they are. They don’t “despise” and they aren’t “jealous”. Those teams just aren’t on their radar. |
| After the first six or so divisions there are a lot of empty lanes. They might have one fast swimmer in each race. It does change the dynamics. Division 1 all of them are close to all star times. Division 3 maybe 1 for each race, Division 7 maybe one swimmer per age group who can only swim two strokes. |
| How did OKM move up so quickly in both swim and dive? What happened over the past 2-3 years to achieve this? Did they recruit families? |
I think it might be a combination of having a quality team rep and coaching. |
I agree the zealous hatred of them is just as weird and sad as how you all are saying they act. Most parents and swimmers are not thinking about these pools at all. |
They weren’t awful just will stick out like a sore thumb in D1. Patriotic riff….kinda looked like a Blue Lives Matter shirt. |
+1 We are a lower division pool and have lots of friends at those pools. We have no problem with any of them at all. |
|
Same with individuals , but dealing with groups of them at events like the ASR they become a different entity. |
Really - most teams don’t care or notice them at all. |
Calling kids and families obnoxious a-holes reflects worse on you than anyone else. Taking out your obvious resentment on kids just reveals your own lack of class or manners. |
This. It's like everyone loving to hate the Patriots and Tom Brady with a venom that is bizarre. Says more about the haters. Most people don't give a crap. |
This whole thing is dumb. There are a lot of them and they cheer loudly. Does that make a person an a-hole? Do you sit quietly in the stands reading a book and glance up while your child is swimming? |
| Apparently Overlee, Chesterbrook, and Tuckahoe parents have gone into full defense mode here. |
