| declining prep for olgchs xaverian honors. |
Neither private seemed like a great fit for our DC or our family, and as we seriously considered the cost and pros/cons, it weighed towards public. Burke is lovely but our kid is sporty and was not thrilled with Burke's athletics. Burke's academic offerings did not seem $45K/year better than J-R. St John's athletic facilities are great but for our kid's favorite sport, J-R plus travel will be good. Our kid was not accepted for the St John's honors program, so we'd rather support DC to do their very best at J-R, take APs, and tutor as needed. |
Langley is a great choice. If you want all boys, Landon is your only option. Assuming you didnt consider STA? |
Langley High School or little Langley? Little Langley probably isn’t less intense. |
Little Langley is way more nurturing |
| Hard decisions. we may also stick with a public (charter, basis or latin). |
If it was politically charged, then STA would be trashed too. |
We loved AHC so much. But our DD wants co-ed, so we are choosing St. John's for 9th - declined AHC and Burke. |
| Declining Good Counsel and Landon. Bullis and Prep are tied. DS has to make a decision tomorrow but currently keeps going back and forth. |
Bullis has alot to offer. |
DCUM crowd leans hard Left. |
No, STA is a great school but has bought in with left wing dogma. |
| Declining WIS and Holton, accepting NCS. |
| Declining Burke, Field, Bullis, Maret, St Andrews, St John's for our public Bethesda Chevy Chase (BCC) for 9th. Meeting with BCC this week sealed the deal for us. It was a long process. We did not get into our #1 or 2 choices. |
You and your child did a lot of work for that outcome but you might make some waitlisted happy if others do the same |
