Visi - gorgeous campus, but you could feel the pressure cooker vibe. Ultimately too difficult a commute.
NCS - holy crap, what a beautiful school. Accepted, but simply too expensive. SR - really weird vibe, not impressed with anything other than the physical plant AHC - very warm, friendly environment. DD felt most comfortable here. In the end, it's AHC. I know they don't get a lot of love here, but I take that with a HUGE grain of salt. |

Sidwell Friend is considered a "big three" and people on these boards obsess over them. It's common here on DCUM but not an entirely true representation of "the best". |

People shower schools like Sidwell/GDS/Cathedrals with praise and trash schools like Prep, Gonzaga and the Heights. It's in part politically charged. |

No, they leave plenty of space for criticism. We are declining prep for gonzaga for what it's worth . |

That was us a few years ago. We didn’t even want our kids to apply to Sidwell but let them do the tour and come to their own conclusion. Between that and talking to friends from sports, they didn’t even apply to Sidwell. |
