"Note for customers who applied in person or by mail from February 6-13: We are resolving a technical issue that may prevent you from getting your passport status online. If you see a status of "Not Available" and applied in early February, please know that we are working on your application."

OP here. Got a "Application Status: Approved" message this morning. This was for an expeditated application.

Application Mailed: 02/06/2023
Check Cashed: 02/13/2023
Application Status Approved: 03/14/2023

I'm hoping for a tracking number soon.

PP here. Our in-person appointment at the post office was Feb 9 and our checks were cashed Feb 13.
Status for DS was Approved this morning and is now showing Shipped and in transit from Arizona. Mine is still in process. Our travel date is March 29 and I'll contact my congressman the week prior to leaving if there's still no movement.

My passport was approved. So it took 4 weeks and 2 days from when they cashed the check.

You're lucky. I applied online for a renewal on Jan. 21 and payment was made immediately. Travel April 1. Still "in process." I did my kid's passport at the local post office and she got her's in less than 3 weeks. I'm at 8 weeks and counting now for mine and I'm starting to think about canceling my trip.

Online is actually slower because there were all kinds of glitches with the system.

Depending upon the country to which you are travelling, there may be coyote service available for hire.

Thanks for all the tips.
Has anyone had any luck finding a place to renew on weekends?
I’m checking post office locations in DC for in-person renewal of a minor child’s passport and am only seeing Mondays through Thursdays.

Just received this after submitting online expedited renewal in early January. Considering it's taken TWO months to move from received to in-processing for an expedite, they should probably update the the last line in this automated message and oh I don't know, their website.

"Your Passport is now being reviewed by a U.S. Department of State employee. The length of time your application is "In Process" depends on the service you selected and our current processing times. Your application may remain at this stage for the longest period of time. Thank you for your patience while we test our system during this limited release of online passport renewal. We are currently processing routine applications in 8-11 weeks and expedited applications in 5-7 weeks from the date you submitted your application."

I'm the PP and just wanted to provide an update for anyone else who's on this journey thru bureaucracy. I hit the 14-day-before-departure mark tomorrow and this morning when I checked the online system, my passport app has now been moved to the "printed" category! Since I did expedited service/shipping, I should get it before our trip. There is hope!

Seems like they must be getting to the mid-January expedite passports. My husband (the one who upthread I said applied 1/17, travel date also 4/1) also received an email this morning saying they had shipped his passport. He too did expedited service/shipping. He was planning to call the Constituent Services for the local Congressman today so one less thing on his/our plate to worry about-knock on wood it arrives as expected.

I'm the PP and I was going to do the same thing! I was all prepared to spend my day waiting on the phone trying to get an appt. next week. Glad they're finally getting thru the backlog and hope others get their passports soon, too!
