good luck , it is a nightmare.. Mine was all expedited as well and sent beginning of January .. I travel in 13 days and do not have it and have no clue what to do and no one can help me.
In case it helps you, try this: https://passportstatus.state.gov/ to get an application locator number and then call 1-877-487-2778

I mailed mine (non-expedited) in early January and here's my message: The U.S. Department of State has received your application for your passport book on 01/12/2023. We're now reviewing your application and supporting documents. You requested routine service when you applied. Routine service can take 8-11 weeks. Our processing times begin the day we receive your application at a passport agency or center, not the day you mail your application or apply at a local acceptance facility. Your application locator number is ########. If you are traveling within two weeks and have not received your passport, please contact the National Passport Information Center at 1-877-487-2778 (or TDD/TTY 1-888-874-7793) with your application locator number.

Good luck and safe travels!
Ugh - this is my prior post. Got a message today that they don't have my old passport. They received my application 1/12 and there was a passport in there then. So it's been sitting around since then and now I have to go through applying for a whole new passport and declaring my original one lost or stolen. It happened at their facility!!!

What an absolute nightmare. I'm the pp whose husband has been waiting. Today officially marks more than seven weeks since expedited online renewal. We travel 4/1.

The US passport office reminds me of the bureaucracy of a third world country

There is a twitter page that crowd sources passport application and renewal times.

Can anyone offer an explanation on why the passport office is a s$it show? Not enough employees or is everyone still working from home?

I don't see these average wait times as being a s$itshow.

Those seem pretty reasonable overall.

The recent turnaround for my family's passports, non-expedited, was fairly quick. Below the expected wait times. I was overall pleased.

As more and more Americans travel internationally again, we are experiencing record passport demand for this time of year, often receiving more than 500,000 new passport applications each week.

Passport processing times fluctuate and are currently 8-11 weeks for routine processing and 5-7 weeks for expedited processing. Given the record demand seen so far in 2023, we anticipate processing times will rise as we approach the busier travel season.

Check your passport’s expiration date before making any definitive travel plans and take action to renew your passport well in advance of any international travel planned for this year.

We are committed to transparency and will continue to provide updates. We’re working hard to boost staffing, meet the demand surge, and get you traveling again.

We don't have the data on who and how many people actually replied to that crowd source callout. Based on ongoing experience those numbers look like complete bs. 49 days and still "in process" for an expedited renewal

Right, if you read some of the submissions, some people are entering when the passport office received their application (ie when the status changes from Not Available to In Process) and then in the comments indicate they didn't yet receive their passport.
Also, it's a rolling average and there seems to be about 5-10 submissions per day.

pp/with the husband who submitted an online expedited renewal on 1/17. Looks like the website is down again. He’s getting a 404 error message tonight while trying to check his status.

Not op. I submitted my expedited renewal application Feb 1 for travel on 3/29 (I know, I was already late). There had been no movement so I contacted my congressman’s office (in MD) this past Tuesday for help. Just saw in my informed delivery that my passport will be here tomorrow. I’m can’t believe it. I’m very grateful.

PP here. Our in-person appointment at the post office was Feb 9 and our checks were cashed Feb 13.
Status for DS was Approved this morning and is now showing Shipped and in transit from Arizona. Mine is still in process. Our travel date is March 29 and I'll contact my congressman the week prior to leaving if there's still no movement.

My passport was approved. So it took 4 weeks and 2 days from when they cashed the check.
