Please, this is way off. |
Here are last year's admits from one of these schools. Average GPA is no higher than a B+ and probably more like a straight B.
And yet almost every kid is into a competitive college. They make a large difference in admissions for the kids who would not have been at the top of the class in public. Those kids probably have worse outcomes from private. The rest have better. Lehigh and Villanova, I doubt it. I think the other recs from that long list are good, though. |
I’m talking about kids who applied to both Slac’s and state universities. Rejected from slac’s, deferred/rejected from state U’s with B average and test scores at 95%. I think some of state u deferrals will turn into acceptances. |
Not anymore. A solid B student would be lucky to get into CU Boulder these days. |
Did things change this year (2023?) Because they were getting in last year (2022). How do you even know since decisions aren't all out yet? |
Not true. If you're ED (aka full pay), you're golden. Ask me how I know. |
Well, you're simply wrong. |
It's not the Big 3. It's being able to pay the Big Bucks. Oh, and being male helps too, on any of these schools. |
NP. This is true. My B student at a big3 with a 33 ACT was rejected from Boulder this year (2023). |
Being male might help but big bucks will not. |

Wisconsin has gotten VERY competitive. Wisconsin stats this year seem to be approaching what Michigan looked like 6-7 years ago. |
If you ED, NYU is an option. |
