DC morning radio shows

PP and I remember the Greaseman but didn’t listen - I didn’t find him that funny but all my HS male classmates loved him. Hobble de gah gah.

Loved Buzz’s intro music “What’s that Buzz?” from Hair and how D and M would constantly interrupt him. I remember Marsha Burbank calling in + even doing commercials.

Elliot’s segments on station gossip are some of my favorites. And many authors who come on his show are shocked to realize he’s actually read their books and has thoughtful questions. I would not get along with the man, though!

If being compared to Barbie (which she did to herself in a 2020 tweet) is the worse she has experienced, she has had it pretty easy as a female in the sports field. She's on Twitter calling herself Barbie, it's the biggest movie in the country, but don't call her Barbie or she'll get you fired for it. All of the local sports media types are backing her up, maybe cancel culture will come for them one day.

No big loss though, Geronimo's morning zoo show was terrible in the 80s, his Stern rip off show was terrible in the 90s, and he didn't age well. WBIG plays old songs for old guys, stick with that.

I love EITM! And yes Elliot is a good interviewer and has long standing friendships with Brad Meltzer (author) and Mark Steines (Entertainment Tonight)
