DC morning radio shows

I don't find much to listen to during my morning drive.

Diane serves no purpose, and Tyler comes off as arrogant despite the fact that he routinely says really, really dumb things.

I like Elliot, he can be funny idoi*t, but his laugh can be annoying at times. They do make a lot of jokes about gun lovers and small towns .

I love Elliot’s laugh. It makes me laugh. And he says such stupid things that it’s funny and a nice break of my usual activities. The other two are there to point out his stupidity and he is a good sport about it.

Elliot is a great interviewer. Yes he can be childish and it would probably be horrible to work with him (he obviously loves to fan the flames of all workplace drama and gossip) but I still find the show to be funny after all these years.

I love Elliot in the morning! I took a break from morning radio after becoming a SAHM but once I started driving a kid in the morning, I was so happy to turn on the car radio and hear that Elliot is still on.

Favorite bits were when they got a height weight chart and would ask callers for stats and then ring a bell (Hi, Baybayyy) if a female had all the right stats, or how they’d recognize a smoker’s voice and ask about brands/smoking habits. Mike loved determining a fellow Big Man based upon voice alone. Then he’d guess the guys weight.

They also called into an automated health information line and would play roulette - try to get the most concerning (and funny) condition like Diarrhea.

Loved their Jeopardy with Don hissing, “not in the form of a question!”

Sound effects, Freda calling in, We’re Fat. We’re White. We’re Catholic…and we are sick about it!

I thought Buzz Burbank was the news guy. ?

Pre Buzz it was David David Hanes

Also recall Shari Liquor before Buzz.

Loved Buzz’s intro music “What’s that Buzz?” from Hair and how D and M would constantly interrupt him. I remember Marsha Burbank calling in + even doing commercials.

Don Geronimo just got fired from Big 100 so that's one less DC area morning show.

Who remembers the Greaseman on DC101 back in the 80’s??

Sharla McBride said this was the most disrespect she has experienced in her 17 year career. If being compared to Barbie (which she did to herself in a 2020 tweet) is the worse she has experienced, she has had it pretty easy as a female in the sports field. Belittling her is not OK, but I think getting fired for it was an extreme response.

He harassed her on air booming onto the field, while she was also on air. He absolutely deserved to be fired. It’s 2023, learn this isn’t acceptable.

Don and Mike interviewing Wendy Rieger was classic. I’d love to find that somewhere.

Was he fired for that or for calling her Barbie? Neither seems like a fireable offense to me.

Well fortunately you’re not in charge. The Commanders ended the contract with IHeart over his behavior.
