To be fair, PP never said anything about DC. Someone asked about DC and I assume the PP responded regarding the schools to which they were referring, but they never said anything about DC.

DC privates includes the ones in Nova & Bethesda/Potomac. I think anyone literally thinking DC privates reference on the ones in DC proper here on DCUM is the type of pretentious parent living in DC and dying to be in the social circle of their neighbor that sends their kid to the local in DC private

No, DC privates ONLY mean those schools that are located in Washington, DC. Potomac, Landon, Holton, etc are NOT DC privates. Period.

Ok, Karen. But there are a lot of us here not in DC proper. What are you going to do? Kick us out?

I seem to recall SAES sending swag via USPS last year, which some posters “saw” (I believe indication that they were getting a package from that zip code?) on informed consent the morning decisions came out. Sorry that the details are fuzzy, but I did take note of it because our child is applying to SAES for HS this year.

I’ll try to dig up the old thread. . .

Misogynistic and lazy.

FWIW we have informed delivery and the three packages we got from schools last year did not show up on it. So don’t rely too heavily on it.

Let's assume they meant AISGW schools.

There are terrific schools not on that list. Why gatekeep?

we are waiting for 9th and i would never do this. imagine having swag from 1st choice school around the house and you don't get in? yikes!

You never hid holiday gifts? Kid doesn’t get in and you take to goodwill the next day, or pitch it.

No assumption needed. If you mean greater Washington schools or DC area schools then just say that. No need to say DC when you mean Potomac or Landon.

Incorrect. Someone asked, “what DC schools do X” and the next poster answered Potomac.

You’re literally posting on a site called DC Urban Moms and Dads that has boards about MD and VA issues.

So just stop.

For the record, there are two people speaking about this. I was just clearing up what was said as a PP said DC school was never mentioned.

Yes, this is DC Urban Moms etc, but even Jeff recognizes the need to separate the school threads by state. If someone asks for feedback on private schools for DC, they usually mean DC. Not McLean, not Potomac. Why is that such a hard standard to stick by? Why must someone be called annoying to point that out?

When someone refers to the city, they’re not asking for suburban responses. When I ask for restaurant recommendations in NYC, I’m not asking for a place in Hoboken, NJ.

What’s more annoying is people that live in Burbank that claim to live in LA. 😂

The funniest part of all of this is that people in DC think they are somehow different from people half a mile away in identical Bethesda.
