My god. That’s not what’s happening here. The private school forum is for the DC AREA. Give it up. |
How far in advance did they give the accepted kids the swag? |
Then people wouldn’t ask for DC schools since you know, this is DCUM. People wouldn’t have to say DC schools as it’s already implied every school on this thread would be DC area school if not otherwise noted. So if someone on here is asking for a DC school, they’re looking for DC proper. If someone ask for MD school, they’re asking for MD. |
You’re only making it worse. |
I’ll bet many people here were interested in what the Potomac poster had to say. What was the point of complaining it wasn’t DC proper? Would anyone really get confused by this info? If you’re not interested in that info, move along. The complaints were so nitpicky beyond belief. Can we please drop it and let the thread get back to the main point? |
|
You are all tedious.
|
Then just say what schools. Period. |
| There are so many people applying....many schools have mentioned it’s a record year. We are hoping for at least one option. |
Which schools? |
This is actually not accurate. Washington DC was one of the major cities with steepest declined in yield this year. “The five metro areas with the largest decrease were San Francisco, Stamford, Houston, Washington, DC, and Seattle.” Source: https://www.nais.org/magazine/independent-school/fall-2022/5-independent-school-market-trends-to-watch-in-2022-2023/ |
None. There’s been a decline in DC. |
I believe notifications were on Friday last year. They posted themselves mailing stuff the Thursday afternoon before, so just the day before. |
My MIL was an admissions director. She said they somehow tell people that every year, and she was in admissions for 20+ years. |
Also, it appears with lower birth rate and rising private school cost if you were people are sending children to private. I’m afraid specifically to children born 2017+. |
OK let me correct those typos 👆. I’m getting used to the voice dictation update on iPhone. Also, it appears with lower birth rate and rising private school costs fewer people are sending children to private. I’m referring specifically to children born 2017 plus. |
