Would you be mad if your DC got someone/was pregnant?

We are in the adult children forum.

I'd support them and help them in any way possible. I'm sure it would be a shock for everyone since none of my adult children are trying to become parents at this point.

You sound obnoxious. Assuming what others, many of whom never post themselves, think.

Definitely abortion.

I've been telling my kids since they were young they are not to become parents until at least age 30, so they have time both for their brains to fully develop AND have a few years with those fully formed brains to experience adult life. So they know to get an abortion.

You know that you don't have that kind of control over your adult children's decisions?

Yeah that’s intense and weird. Did you also tell them about the risks of waiting to have kids - fertility issues, miscarriage risks, etc.? They can only have a baby between 30 and 35? That’s a narrow window!

Who said only between age 30-35? Cite it.

Well, it sounds more like control, conditioning and enmeshment.

That PP is pointing out that there are all kinds of risks planning to have kids after 35 that a parent really shouldn’t encourage that either. Pretty sure it was a tongue-in-cheek comment.

Anyway anyone who thinks having kids in your mid-late 20s is a bad idea an idiot. Sure, some people can’t get their life together early enough to pull it off, but for those of us who could, there is only upside.

I wouldn’t be mad.

I’d be made if my child was a bigot.

Or an adulterer.

Or committing crimes.

Or abandoned their children.
Anonymous
I would be thrilled.

Congratulations?! What are your plans?

The lord can't run Child protection services well enough for children already in the system so you better have a better plan.

Sounds like you are looney.

How many people with children who end up needing the attention of CPS had children, specifically, out of wedlock?

I would be disappointed because my kids are young (18 and 20) and unplanned pregnancy can be hard. I hope they are taking seriously my reminders to use protection...
