Why do rich men seem to heavily prefer very skinny women? Even over a beautiful face?

The beauty standard is changing as we see in ads for stores. You used to be able to find size 14, 16 only at plus size stores like Lane Bryant. But now that is everywhere in retail stores with mannequins, models in ads.

Even SI swimsuit has larger , attractive models like Ashley Graham and also much bigger ladies.

My Gen X DH has not changed however, I am still slim for a healthy weight. He himself is over 30 bmi though.

The media has been trying to push for inclusion with fat and overweight women. It hasn't worked and thin is in especially now that Kim K has gotten off the thick fad.
She looks way better now thin.
Being thin take work and a healthy lifestyle, being fat doesn't so women are losing their minds again now that effort is needed to look attractive

But I dont think she looks better thin, in fact most of the comments I read say she looks worse now (And I happen to agree, though of course that's opinion based). You choose two extremely specific photos, one of her fully clothed (skinny) and the other, a bikini shot of her while larger, undoubtedly the most famously unflattering photos she took.

Between the two, I personally prefer her "before" photo, but acknowledge it's personal preference. It's also worth nothing that Kim has had a lot of surgery and her body and face, on every level, will never be an accurate representation of how any real person carries weight, big or small, lol

If you read what Kim did, she was eating horribly to keep the overweight figure. Now she is healthy the weight came off so the fat healthy concept is false

“Since then, afterwards, I continued to eat really healthy,” the mom of four said. “I’m down 21 pounds now. I’m not trying to lose any more weight, but I have more energy than ever. I cut out so much sugar — a lot of junk food I was eating, I didn’t realize, like a lot of fried foods. And I just completely changed my lifestyle.” Kim credits the drastic change for teaching her “a lot about [her] lifestyle and [her] mental health.”

LOL no. Kim went on an extreme low carb diet to lose weight. She even tells a story of her going to a personal trainer and the personal trainer telling her she was perfectly healthy and "didnt have 20 pounds to lose" and Kanye coming in and shouting at the woman because of it 🥴 Also everyone knows she went on Ozempic to shed the pounds, which we really dont know the long term effects of. Ozempic (a diabetes drug) has become a recent trend that already slim women are using to drop even more weight, and we have no idea of the long term functions at play. Overall I would say her diet, especially dropping 20 lbs within TWO WEEKS to fit into the Marilyn Monroe dress, is one of the least healthy diets any famous person has admitted to within the last 10 years.

This is nonsense. She is on weight loss drugs and likely had a gastric bypass.

I think we have missed an obvious answer, at least for men that have created their own wealth (including the one I’m seeing): it took a lot of discipline and hard work to get where he did, and he appreciates a woman with the same characteristics or at least who recognizes and admires it in him. Disciplined women tend to be thin. The thinness is a symptom of the personality traits these men look for.

You're, like, the seventh person to suggest this, so no, "we" haven't missed it, you have.

Well, there it is. The dumbest thing I'll read today.

Man here with a lot of wealthy friends. In my circle, men would raise a slight eyebrow if someone showed up with an overweight wife/partner. Probably wouldn't comment on it as it's not that big of a deal -- I think women pay more attention to other women than men do.

To me, it's a sign of lack of discipline. You can stay healthy if you eat well and exercise regularly. If you have money, those are easily achievable.

I like the thinner Kardashian. I wouldn't kick either out of bed, but the thinner one looks nicer and healthier.

Thin woman: represents intelligence, hard work, and money.

Man in a Porsche: represents intelligence, hard work, and money.

Maybe to you, but to me someone in a Porsche never fails to make me laugh especially in this area. It just expresses vanity. You in your Porsche are languishing in the same crap traffic I am in my Volkswagen.

OP here. I think that might be part of it... a psychological association of fatness with laziness and thinness with discipline. I wonder if there is a generational factor as well but I definitely think that might be a big factor

OP, I think it’s partly this and partly that in American culture, being skinny is positively associated with status (probably in part because it’s assumed that skinny women aren’t lazy). You can never be too rich or too thin, blah blah.

It’s this. The women stay thin because they want to be accepted and fit in. It has very little to do with what their husband’s prefer. I guarantee you that half of these women or more aren’t even having sex with their husband’s anymore. It isn’t about them.

You're missing the point entirely.
