Nice try, but the PP lacks the ability to understand. What you wrote reflects the current position of most obesity scientists, but most of DCUMs diet posters cannot understand something this complex. They lack the capacity. |
Why yes that’s me! Eating my toast now |
But that wasn’t PP point. They were gloating about somehow doing better than those that are able to manage their weight without meds. |
Wow, that is a lot of grace being given. At some point one has to knuckle down to the hard task of sacrificing some things you like to get the result you want. |
Actually I HAVE maintained a significant weight loss....for the last 20+ years - through TWO pregnancies! Is that relevant enough for you? Or are you still shockingly obtuse and ignorant. |
Are you still taking the Lexapro? |
why would you only eat berries once in a while? They are full of antioxidants and healthy. |
DP but I think this is a misuse of "obtuse". It's a word I like to use myself and it seems out of place here. |
Lol this. I don’t need to take meds to maintain a normal weight and never have! Winning. |
It's brave to admit this. I used to be bogged down with the shame.
I found cognitive behavioral therapy helpful - Beck Diet Book. Good luck. |
Whoop de doo for you. Not everyone can do that. Clearer you are a superior specimen of humanity. Physically, I mean. Clearly not morally. |
Good question. NP here. I found it extremely hard to maintain my weight loss after starting lexapro. It made my appetite go through the roof with crazy sugar cravings. I am now decreasing my lexapro dose and it seems to be helping with decreasing my voracious appetite. But I plan to stay on a small dose because it is so helpful for my anxiety and panic attacks. |
Read and follow "Reversing Diabetes Forever" and be physically active every day. Even if you don't have diabetes.
There are food combinations and substitutions that help in conjunction with the physical exercise. Protein at every snack and every meal. 15-20 carbs max for snacks (1 or 2x/day) and 30-40 carbs per meal (3x/day). But the food elements are important - not just the carb count (such as white bread v. multigrain or oil and vinegar/apple cider salad dressing instead of creamy ranch) |
OP, cut yourself some slack. Lexapro is bad news for weight gain. If you haven't already, switch your antidepressant. Start with a few modifications to diet and increase your exercise. Just be diligent about sticking to diet and exercise and you will start seeing changes. I really think Lexapro should be prescribed w/ a weight loss drug or appetite suppressant b/c it is really, really bad at making you gain weight fast. |
Is it just Lexapro? I thought all the SSRI antidepressants were bad for weight loss? |
