Constitutional rights are so inconvenient

You might want to actually read the Constitution.

This, my kids can protest all they want during non-school hours but I will be pissed if they leave class to protest. They can protest after school ends and I'll pick them up 20 minutes later.

More info will be given to them at school tomorrow.

I have a better idea. Protest the government's failure to keep fentanyl out of country that is killing more than 100,000 young people a year.

My Potomac Fall High School freshman informed me there was no protest or walkout at her school.

I don’t think this is as organized as OP is attempting to make it out to be.

+1. Plus it's just a stupid waste of time.

All schools in Virginia are doing it.
Hylton high school in PWCS is doing it at 9AM.
Time might very by schools, but we can’t officially tell the kids to go protest, but we can give them clues and need help to get the word out.

Are you the OP?

My kid is in a different PWCS high school and this is the first I've heard of it. My kid isn't home right now but I will ask him if he knows of this when I see him.

I'm pp above with the kid in a different PWCS high school and my kid has not heard anything about a protest.

All? No one in my house has heard anything yet. I teach in a high school and my children attend a high school in a different district. This hasn’t been well publicized if it’s happening.

I'm sorry do you not know the constitution?

Peaceful protest is part of civics clearly MAGA IDIOTS can not read, have not taken civics in school or if they did too stupid to understand.

PEACEFUL PROTEST.

How do you expect them to learn to read and take civics in school if they're being "encouraged" to protest during school time?

I'll definitely be telling them to NOT protest. What anti-parent nonsense to have public schools (the state) recognize your child as another sex and keep it from parents.

Maybe if you understood sex and gender…

So you support separating sports and bathrooms by sex, not gender? Kids don’t need hormonal therapy because there’s no need to change sex, just gender identity?

I'm only going to address the bathroom and locker room question because I think your second question has nothing to do with schools, and I do find the sports question a complicated one.

So many parents are all up in arms about people with penises in female bathrooms and locker rooms. I'd really like to hear from students on this one. Many HS students are over 18 and society trusts them with a lot. My understanding is that many HS girls do not care if people presenting as girls/women use the girls'/ladies bathroom. But I have not seen proper surveys.

I've just seen parents freaking out. Parents who grew up when the phrase 'That's so gay' was common and practically acceptable.

What do you believe constitutes "many?" This is ridiculous. A very small #/% of high school students are 18. "Many" seniors don't even turn 18 until some point during, or even after, the school year.

The vast majority of high school students are under 18--especially this early in the school year. Therefore, it does not matter if the girls (glad you are acknowledging that as "girls" they are still children, not WOMEN) care of not. It is their parents obligation to advocate for them.

Progressives tend to be accepting of everyone unlike republicans who may be anti immigrant (I’m generalizing here). But what progressives don’t realize is that many Muslims hold the same socially conservative views as republicans. Due to islamophobia, anti immigrant sentiment and the pro-war stances of the Republican Party, many Muslims vote Democrat. Also many muslims are economically liberal (believe in government healthcare for example). However what is happening now is that some muslims feel that democrats are imposing liberal values on them. It’s becoming personal. So as a result they have been voting Republican. Again I did not vote for Youngkin but this is the sentiment I am seeing.

This is an interesting perspective. Thanks for sharing.
