More info will be given to them at school tomorrow.

I'll definitely be telling them to NOT protest. What anti-parent nonsense to have public schools (the state) recognize your child as another sex and keep it from parents.

Should they call you if they see your daughter kiss a boy?

If it's in an inappropriate place, manner, or at an inappropriate time like during classtime - sure.

I am not PP. This is a strange comparison. I think all of us can agree that socially transitioning is a big deal. Progressives argue that preventing a child from socially transitioning if they identify with a gender opposite to their sex assigned at birth elevates the risk of suicide. If that’s the case then it is definitely a big deal and isn’t comparable to a kid kissing a boy in school. This is a major life decision and it’s something that parents should be part of. Now if the school is worried that the parents will harm the child then there is a separate process for that.

Youngkin is over reaching as well. The guidelines seem to state that even if the parents believe that social transition is in the best interests of the child then why would a teacher be allowed to refuse to call a child by their preferred pronouns? This is a parental rights issue as well.

Both sides don’t support parental rights and contradict themselves.

Thank you for your post.
I have told my children to absolutely stay in class and do not participate!

If the school is giving out the information, then how is it a protest?

All schools in Virginia are doing it.
Hylton high school in PWCS is doing it at 9AM.
Time might very by schools, but we can’t officially tell the kids to go protest, but we can give them clues and need help to get the word out.

Are you part of admin or a teacher? If a child doesn’t go out and protest will you discriminate against that child? There is a reason why you can’t tell students to go out and protest. So giving them “clues” is also problematic.

No info was given out at my child’s school. We are in LCPS.

I have not hear anything about a protest. I’m a HS teacher and parent of a high schooler who attends a different school. Enough with the protests. My kids know I want them to stay in school. Most students use these as an excuse to skip class.
