+ 1 after Biden being in politics for 40 years you would think she could understand what to wear to a funeral like this. It was not that hard to wear a hat!

I think she looked nice. Don't care about the headband - didn't bother me. She has fantastic legs. And I even like her feathered hair - it feels very her, and authentic.

+1

KM was perfect. You are literally the only person I've seen say this. Wow.

Who tf let Jill wear that headband

It was just a little too cheerful or something. There is something I don't like about the shape of MM's hat together with the cape. Navy would have been nice for Charlotte, but I think it's okay. Charlotte is cute and resembles the Queen as a child.

Jill’s headband looked absurd. You don’t wear fancy party fascinators to funerals

I'm not sure it;s substantial enough to be deemed a fascinator. I'm not sure what you would call it, other than a headband with loops. I liked Camilla's hat.

She did look beautiful and regal but dress was nothing special.

As it shouldn’t be. This is a funeral. She looked perfectly elegant and appropriate

Exactly. I unfortunately have had the experience of going to a number of funerals for close family members in the past few years. A simple black dress works best because it doesn’t call attention to the wearer. A funeral is not about me, it is about the person who has passed away, and that is where the attention should most appropriately be focused.

That was probably on purpose, you know to keep the attention away from her.

Not that I’m wishing ill on William and George, but I’m on team Queen Charlotte.

Uh, she's been wearing a lot of enormous jewelry this week for someone who doesn't want the attention on her. I think she's doing some queen-in-waiting drag. Not a criticism -- that's what she is and she and William will likely have very large roles under Charles reign because of his age and the fact that Kate is much better liked by the public than Camilla (though people have softened towards her a bit... but they still prefer Kate).

I didn't get the sense Kate was trying to keep attention off herself at all. I sense that she was fully aware of the attention on her, her husband, and her children and that she was very careful to deliver the right messages.

MM, meanwhile, did seem to be trying to fade into the background. And for good reason -- the press and commentary about her is critical no matter what, so I sense her goal was to be as unassuming as possible and let others have the spotlight. She is at a point with the British press (and many people) where she can do no right.

The heavy jewelry and otherwise simple clothes (though obviously very high quality and perfectly tailored). It will be interesting to see if this works. It obviously worked for QEII, whose clothes were never fashionable but became iconic. But she was a ruling Queen and also I think there was something about her being Queen through the very tumultuous 20th century, when clothes and culture changed so much, that made her adherence to traditional fashion (if you define traditional as "what aristocratic women wore in England during World War II) feel at time anachronistic but ultimately a lasting testament to her symbol as a source of consistency.

Meghan, I don't think cares about any of that. I think her cape looked cool and her hat really sets off her face to it's best effect. I would be curious to know if she intentionally kept her jewelry incredibly toned down (especially next to Catherine's huge pearl statement) or if that was orchestrated by the royal decision makers who seem to want to make it as clear as possible that Meghan has no importance within the royal family. Maybe a joint decision -- I don't get the sense that Meghan is eager to try and seize power, she seems extremely over the royal family and to simply be performing the wifely duty of supporting her husband.

Meghan moved an entire ocean away to get far from these people. She is not trying to seize power. She's trying to just get through it and get the heck outta there.

Are you kidding? Of course she wants to be in the spotlight. If she knew how to win at this game, she'd be the queen consort. Luckily for everyone (except her), she has no clue.

Exactly.

You weirdos. You have no clue but post as if you are part of the rf. You're not. Someone else married Harry. She wants no part of this racist, backwards bunch of spoiled snobs.

She has every right to move away and minimize the connection other than using it for business and social needs. Same way, Kate has a right to move closer and benefit from the connection. As long as their husbands support them and can maintain their own relationship with their birth family, its all good. I think its big of her AND them to not make funeral about the family feud. If brand is strong, it would help them all.

My mother always said that children should never be dressed in black, but then again, we were not royals.

Your mother isn't the boss

I would tell you to inform her of that, but she is dead.
