Such a tiny waist after 3 kids!

Apparently photo manipulation was common around that time. Bernadette Banner has a great video showing how the waistline was edited in these old photos to look more like an hourglass. Given how dark it is around her waist, it seems possible this one was manipulated too.

Ah- Jeff posted a note today that MM is not allowed bc any discussion of her totally takes over a thread. It’s on the DCUM homepage.

Bizarre. If a new topic in beauty/fashion forum is about MM then she is the focus. I’m not an MM hater. I like H&M. I root for the underdogs. Just report the haters. I do not believe they fabricated their story. Why in the hell would they? QEII said herself, “recollections vary.” Clever Queen indeed. Never forget the thread on DCUM making assumptions about the newborn’s skin color. It was atrocious. I think I reported a few.

This happened to me a lot after my kids were born. I was the same size but everything shifted around and dresses fit but didn’t fall the same way. That or she’s pregnant.

I think she just wears what she likes and doesn’t worry about the silhouette. She very frequently has unflattering bustlines from not wearing proper undergarments. She also wears a lot of outfits that don’t flatter her figure (she is very triangle or carrot-shaped). I suspect she is a control freak and doesn’t let a stylist dress her.

I think the mm commentary is done. I think I have a theory on the belly question because I’ve experienced a similar thing.. if my theory is right : her shapewear moved and got bunchy.

Because some people are saying she should have shapewear for that dress. I think she does—who wouldn’t wear it with that smooth dress?

And I have issues sometimes where I’ve been sitting, standing, sitting, standing. It moves a bit. And I like kinds that have separation, not the uni-suit kind where you have to pee awkwardly. So, that’s what I think happened.

Did Queen Mary ever smile?! Meanwhile, the Queen Mother almost always seemed to be smiling, at least for photographs.

Not that Queen Mary would be smiling at a funeral for her son, but, a an aside, I don't think I've ever seen a photo of her smiling at any period in history.

Look at this sweet picture of the future Queen Mary with 2 future kings and their sister Mary

She is wearing the same style earrings that Elizabeth liked to wear. Elizabeth owned several pairs of earrings similar to this style. I'm wondering if one set was from her grandmother.

The other thing of note is Queen Mary's waist. She must be wearing a corset. Her waist is tiny after having three children.
