How much is your mortgage payment?

$3600 PITI. HHI is now around $350,000. Thinking of retirement soon and wish monthly payment was lower.

We are looking for a bigger home and expecting the monthly payment to double to $6500.

Combined we earn $350K.

Join me in my barely updated small 1961 ranch in an undesirable neighborhood and you too could have a cheap mortgage!

We are in a 1965 Ranch that is TINY for our family. We are in a nice area though. I need more space before my kids turn into teens!

I thought we were doing good, but maybe not. ugh. I HATE that homes are so expensive here and I also dislike that so many newer ones are so big.

A million dollar mortgage at 3% (30 year) is $4,216. Rates are currently almost 6%; you're looking at almost $6K at that rate. That, by the way, is why homes are sitting on the market (and will eventually be reduced.)

Nope if you bought a while back. We bought in McLean in 2008.

$7800

$4K PITI. We bought in 2014 and if we bought the same house today, we’d be looking to pay at least $6.5K PITI, assuming 20% down. I feel for buyers today.

$2800, HHI $315k

$10,700.

I feel the need to post on these threads because either you’re all lying liars or these threads self-select for the righteous DCUM homeowners who “would never!” spend more than 10% of their income on housing.

Eye roll.

It depends on what you consider tiny. We have under 1000 square feet. You want more space. You don't need it.

$4400 piti. Bought at $1.1m in 2014 with $350k down.

That seems high with such a big downpayment. Do you have a 15 year?
