We pay $3,300 PITI and have 10 years to go. We did a cahs out refi a few years ago to help with renovation costs, and moved from a 20 to a 15 year mortgage, without increasing what we owe the bank.
Home value is about 1.2m and we have about 275K left on our mortgage. Combined income about 400K. |
| $3,500 mortgage. HHI $650K. Also refinanced for shorter term (15 yr). Home purchased at $600K. Valued around $900K. |
| $5,500. |
| We're at $2100 PITI with a HHI of $250k but we have a lot of property maintenance costs on top of that. |

OP not sure this thread helps you.
People do different things with mortgages. Everyone has different monthly expenses. I would hate to be house poor. For us, we always buy less of a house than we can afford. This strategy has served us well. |
| $1200; bought in 2005. |
| $900 |
Join me in my barely updated small 1961 ranch in an undesirable neighborhood and you too could have a cheap mortgage! |
| Most numbers on this site are low for NW DC, Bethesda, Arlington, McLean. In those areas, for those with mortgages, you're usually starting at 5K not including escrows. A million dollar mortgage at 3% (30 year) is $4,216. Rates are currently almost 6%; you're looking at almost $6K at that rate. That, by the way, is why homes are sitting on the market (and will eventually be reduced.) |

$8500 PITI on 850K-1M HHI (and $4-5M in liquid assets).
We live in the Bay Area so this is for a small, dated starter home in a nice/convenient neighborhood. |
I’m not the pp, but when did you buy? I too have a small 1950s ranch in a meh (albeit close-in) neighborhood, and my mortgage is $4k. Half-decent SFHs inside the beltway start around $800k. |
| $6700 PITI. Around $700K household income |
| $3000 PITI on $225k HHI. Bought in 2019 and have about $300k of equity in house worth $850k or so. |

$1800 (not including property taxes, we pay separately.). This is upperNW DC, small rowhouse.
HHI- $330k |
| $2609 monthly for everything and $800 hoa yearly. We bought before the prices went crazy and put 20% down. |
