| $4600 total. Bought in 2014, no refinancing. It was a stretch when we bought it, but it’s now very comfortable for us. I have sympathy for current buyers. |
| $3,750, HHI $265K. Thought our payments were pretty low but I guess not compared to other PPs |
| $1200, maybe less but we have refinanced and recasted and almost paid it off. We pay $2K but a good chunk goes into principal. |
| $4000 PITI, $265k HHI. SFH, bought this year for $850k. |
| PITI $2,700 on a $407K home with 3.5% down and $150K joint income. No debt. |
|
$3700, evenly split 50/50 between PI and TI.
350k HHI |
It depends on your interest rate, taxes, insurance and your house cost. You probably bought a more expensive house. |
| OP it's impossible to gauge what you can afford by crowdsourcing what others are doing. No two financial situations are the same. Someone could also be paying 100k in private schools/nanny/daycare, or 25k a year in student loans, or paying off a car etc. |
|
$3000 PITI
$220k hhi |
Yes we all know that. This isn’t the full detailed picture but it’s a picture. |
| $2014 a month on a household income of $180,000 |
| $7500/month. We make $650-750k HHI in stable jobs. No other big debts, our nanny years are over and kids go to a great public school. |
OP didn't even ask about HHI. Just listing the mortgage amount alone means absolutely nothing. Of course even with HHI it's not hte whole picture, but it at least gives some context. |
Pretty similar: $4,250 and HHI $270K. Ours is a 15-year mortgage. |
|
We have about $2200 PITI and $350 condo fee--so $2550 total. Income was about $200k when we bought 9 years ago and is closer to $400k now, and of course condo fee is higher now than it was.
I know we can afford more but I can't wrap my head around the $6500 payment that someone else with a similar income on this thread mentioned. I like not having to think too hard about money, and while we could make a payment that high we'd have to watch everything else. Not worth the tradeoff for me but I can see why it would be for someone else. |
