It is not extra compensation. Teachers expected to be paid for X hours this week. They will still be paid for X hours this week. They just will not have access to the building for all of them. Think of it like a snowday. It does not cost extra to pay teachers for snowdays.

DP. I actually have 2 kids at RM. This event definitely impact the RM community. Today is not the most convenient time to do it, for about a billion reasons. But, I guess the DNC runs things in MoCo, so it is what it is.

Like the PP said, organizations, including political ones, are able to rent out many county buildings, including schools.
