Bidens at Richard Montgomery HS Tomorrow

In case anyone had plans at RM tomorrow. This is a DNC sponsored political event and it does impact school activities and obviously traffic around the school.

“The event impacts pre-service week activities for teachers who are preparing for Monday’s start of classes, Cram wrote in an email. Teachers will be offered a monetary adjustment to cover time lost, Cram wrote, and the exact amount has yet to be determined.”

There was a very detailed letter sent out to the community (staff, families, etc.) explaining this event. Are you not connected directly to MCPS? Our school facilities are rented out all the time and it generates money.

The detailed letter sent out states that teachers will need to be compensated for their missed pre-service time. That will be taxpayer funded by Montgomery County taxpayers, not by the DNC.

Not sure how Jill will be there when she has rebound Covid.

DP. I actually have 2 kids at RM. This event definitely impact the RM community. Today is not the most convenient time to do it, for about a billion reasons. But, I guess the DNC runs things in MoCo, so it is what it is.

And RM is a solidly Democrat school - teachers, staff, families. Predominantly Democrats. So this was the high school for the Bidens to choose. Who doesn’t like Biden? Go Democrats!

My neighbor said they were choosing between 3 options - Blair, RM and Great Seneca. Ended up at RM.
