You're DC will never be special enough for Georgetown to be a safety |
*your |
| I always wonder on threads on this forum whether it is just one or two posters who come in to s*it on other people's kids or if there are that many miserable people. |
Oh it’s many dear |
Ridiculous. Good for you getting into better schools. Virginia schools are so frustrating. |
| Kid's friend In Stanford rejected Northeastern |
But really, would they have gone to those schools? Nope. So why would they be accepted? Unless they ED’d there. |
| In at Duke( Full ride), Cornell, Tufts. Rejected Emory, Vandy. |
| In Michigan, Rejected Virginia Tech |
| In at Yale, Notre Dame, UVA; rejected at Emory, Wesleyan, Denison and Villanova; WL at Virginia Tech. None of it makes much sense. |
No top 25 school is a "safety" for anyone. For kids with top stats, Georgetown is a lottery with better odds than Stanford, but it's still a lottery. Not sure any top 50 school can really be a safety these days, for that matter. |
A URM? |
The fact this thread was started in JULY suggests a few scenarios to me: a. OP is telling the truth and missing all the attention her child's accomplishment garnered him or her this past spring. b. OP is a parent of a kid who fell short of their expected collage acceptances and OP is still working through that emotional blow by, as you noted, s*itting on other people's kids. c. OP is a bored teenager amusing themselves rather than starting their summer reading assignment. |
Which did your child choose? These are all on our list! |
Was thinking the same. Emory is very diverse so may not need as many URM students. My DS friend (Black) two years ago was in at UChicago rejected at Emory. |
