Cal U was very popular in the 90's but has lost some prestige. Still popular with the California elite. The real decision was between Coolidge and Harrison due to the scholarship and merit aid, made it cheaper than UVA in-state.

I'm a californian. Cal U ? That's University of Ca at Pennsylvania - or are you talking about Cal, which is Berkeley?

I'm a Californian too (California should be capitalized) Cal U was very popular in the 90's especially with the CA elite from 90210. Anyway Coolidge and Harrison were the front runners due to the caddy scholarship and merit aid. We owe our life to Judge Elihu Smails...without him our child would never have been able to receive a college education at Coolidge College.

Pacific Tech was first choice but got waitlisted. DS ended up at Adams for comp sci. Hoping the dorms aren’t over crowded this year. At least he’s a Tri-Lam legacy…

That's amazing, congratulations! Pacific Tech is almost impossible to get in to but Adams is a great CS school. You're young man will love pledging Tri-Lam, great diverse fraternity!

Judge Elihu Smails would take judicial notice of the fact that Emory is better than Tulane.

It's not even a question really, some people on DCUM just hate Emory for some reason. Their DC's were probably rejected.

Flagship/top state schools are seeing a huge increase in applications because most students do not want to be burdened by debt just for the prestige. They will only become more and more competitive.

They don't know (it is pure speculation).
