I never did understand why they call it the DCC for a bunch of schools outside the beltway. The ones inside the beltway aren't downcounty? |
Gee, you're so helpful. What are you talking about? |
Read the thread. It's actually right in front of you. |
Yeah. And the Northeast Consortium could also just as easily be called the Southeast Consortium. It's not an exact science. |
I read the thread. A PP (you?) said "No outdoor basketball courts, because you know." Well I don't know what this means, so could you enlighten me? All the site maps include basketball courts, so please explain why you think they're not going to be there. |
It's DownCounty Consortium, not inside the beltway consortium. All the schools are downcounty. |
|
+1. And It's less about the location of the school buildings, and more about the areas zoned for the schools, which extend all the way south to the DC line. |
I get it, but aren't Churchill and BCC the most downcounty of all schools? |
That is good news - thanks for the info! |
I get it, but aren't Churchill and BCC the most downcounty of all schools? Yes, but it isn't supposed to make any sense. |
Yes, but it isn't supposed to make any sense. No, not Churchill. The southernmost school zones are Whitman, BCC, Einstein, and Blair. |
No, not Churchill. The southernmost school zones are Whitman, BCC, Einstein, and Blair. Sorry was looking at where the schools were located not their boundaries on the map but it's possible I mixed up Churchill and Whitman. |
That is correct, according to the new CIP there is now a delay, so Northwood will move in for 2 years starting in 2024 and Woodward will re-open as its own school in 2026. Typically, a school's new boundaries would be settled the November prior to the opening, so in this case 2025. https://gis.mcpsmd.org/cipmasterpdfs/MP23_Chapter4DowncountyConsortium.pdf |
Not any more. Basketball courts are gone. |
