This is me too. Takes a few weeks for me to really start seeing scale progress. Then it becomes more consistent. |
Which is so weird because so many of us would pay $400 a month or so out of pocket if they’d offer it. |
Make sure you are getting at least 7 hours of sleep. |
I’ve always found that weight loss really lags behind a change in habits. I also have found through lots of tracking that my weight fluctuates depending on the time of the month, despite no change at all in habits. For instance, I am a full 3 lb heavier mid-cycle than normal. What really matters is your “resting” weight or your anchor weight. Your weight is never going to stay exactly the same-/ you just want it to fluctuate around a lower resting weight.
So all that being said, give yourself wayyyy more time— like 2 or so months. Weigh yourself once or twice weekly to get a sense of patterns. Always weigh yourself at the same time of day, in the exact same place. And know that this truly is a life long journey of both weight loss and then weight maintenance. |
Everyone says “check your thyroid” when you can’t lose weight. I did and my thyroid is normal, but my physician checked various vitamin levels and I was clinically low on several. I now take several vitamins and am able to lose weight like a normal person. I can’t tell you which vitamin it was that made the difference or if it was several working together, but that’s what made the difference for me. |
Wegovy is $1300 per month without insurance. You can’t get the lower doses due to the supply shortages. As pp said, you have to titrate up, you can’t just start at a higher dose. But it won’t cause you to lose 60lbs in 2 months. |
. I did Dr. Beale several years ago and had success. I also kept it off for quite awhile, but COVID and life.... It is Phentermine and a weekly B12 shot. You must drink 60 ozs of water daily (they were very strict on it) and only eat foods on the approved list. Basically lean protein, lettuce, cucumbers, grapes, apples, strawberries, citrus, broccoli (I can't remember what else). For example, they weres specific on the fruits, blueberries (if memory serves me correctly) and tomatoes were not on the list. They aslo provided a medical check up before you start, weekly monitoring and support. |
Phentermine will make you lose weight fast but it will come back. It also has side effects that are not worth it. |
I would eliminate all sugars and keep your added sugar count to 25g. Don’t drink any calories so water, green teas and coffee black only unless need a bit of milk like me. Then just eat only while foods nothing processed and do intermittent fasting. Worked for me to lose 14 lbs of post pregnancy weight. Doing it again and lost about 4 lbs over 3 weeks. You can outrun your diet. Walk and exercise for health but not to lose. GL. |
I had the gastric sleeve. Best thing I've ever done. I'm off all meds. I feel great. |
OP I'm like you - in fact a good portion of my adult life I had an eating disorder and yet never was skinny.
If I don't eat, I don't lose weight. My body will stay at a BMI of 30 eating only 1 lean meal a day. I have to eat frequently, lean protein to lose weight. |
I see this all the time here. It's not always in your control how much sleep you get you know |
Get thyroid and fasting blood sugar checked, all other levels too. I’m in the process of trying to get to the root of fatigue, certain whacky blood levels.
My thyroid labs are normal but I have a genetic mutation that means I don’t convert inactive to active hormone efficiently. My bmr is low (sub 1k) calories so I don’t eat much but long term that’s not great as I never get the macronutrients recommended.I am trying to get enough supplements as I have low levels of iron, selenium, vitamin d and b. I am constantly low in alk phosphate linked possibly to nutritional deficiencies.Im not overweight but years of caloric restriction and gut issues have had an impact and I worry about frailty. |
Agree with all of this. |
Sounds like insulin resistance. You should consult an endocrinologist. How are your blood sugar numbers? |
