Best traction at the Ivies?

The worst math.

This makes no sense to me. Any valedictorian going to Ole Miss for financial reasons would, if admitted, almost certainly be eligible for a full ride (or close to it) at most if not all Ivy League schools given their income thresholds for financial aid.

The worst math.

Given some think the Big 3 is 4 schools, that’s about right

I don't believe it is anywhere near that high.

I think talking about all schools together. Yes, probably close to 50 kids to Ivies in total - meaning add up all the kids that Sidwell, GDS, NCS and STA are sending and I bet it is close to 50 (figure 10 from NCS and STA respectively, and then 15 each from Sidwell and GDS). I see 15 on the GDS insta and assume that isn’t everyone.

Yep, and my sense is that if you put up the college matriculations for all graduating seniors at the so-called "Big 3" schools against those of the 500+ valedictorians from Mississippi, the valedictorian group as a whole would be "worse" judging solely on US News rankings (i.e., not actually worse but I wanted to use some set standard however flawed). I have no way of knowing for sure though.

This is such a stupid comment. Most valedictorians from Mississippi would not even apply to Ivy League universities let alone choose to go to one over an SEC school, an honors college at a state flagship or the full ride offer to Ole Miss, or some other college within a days drive from home.

+1. I was a valedictorian from Alabama and did not consider any Ivy League schools because I do not like the cold weather. And had no interest in going to school in "the north".

Um, didn’t previous posts confirm on Instagram that the cathedral schools, GDS, and Sidwell sent 50 kids to Ivies?

This is just outright false. It's much less than that—that may have been the case 30 years ago, but not now.

NCS has 12 going to Ivies. The number 50 is completely feasible across multiple schools.

STA is 15 plus at least 10 to Chicago out of 70ish

PP is just ignorant

I think there is a miscommunication on this thread. No one is saying 50/school, but rather 50 as a group - which is proven out by publicly available info.

This. Meaning, the athletes the Big 3 recruited from Prince Georges and Prince William counties (!), who in turn become recruited athletes for Harvard especially. Football and basketball

Followed by legacy kids. This varies by class and is reliably correlated to Ivy admits in any given year (not just HYP).

In the aggregate it’s a very low estimate. Sidwell this year is well over 20, off top of my head.

It depends on the school. GDS seems to have a very strong connection to Harvard, Sidwell to Brown and Yale, STA and Catherak - Penn, Dartmouth?

Chicago is a good school.
But it is not Ivy.

OP, from looking at the posted IG accounts this year I would say Sidwell had the best placement

However, I imagine that changes from year to year based on how strong the class is

It could also be that STA/NCS college admits are split whereas with Sidwell its easier to see it all in one place
